Hard to download things? You can just press Ctrl+S and download something. Also, it's actually easier to install programs. You can just click the app drawer and type in something in the search, and it will show an app to install, that you can install by pressing 1 button. |

>"1. google reads everything used on google/through google services"
No. Billions of people use Google. There isn't enough time in the lifetimes of all the Google employees combined to read what everyone does.
>"2. google reserves the right to use any material published/written/etc with google to use/distribute/modify/etc the works"
This is simply false. If you have an essay in, let's say, Google Drive, and they tried to publish it themselves, they are simply breaking the law.
Google can't do that. That's blatantly a lie.
>"3. selling kids into the google ad project? lol nah"
I have yet to see a single ad since I've gotten my Chromebook. There are no more ads than on any other OS. I just installed Adblock and I see none on any website.
>"I mean as its an entirely new OS so its hard to download premade things (LIKE GAMES) on chromebook."
True. There are a few native games for Chrome OS, but they're not that great. Currently, I'd only recommend Chrome OS to people who want a good netbook. They're cheap, fast, do everything you need for a good netbook, are very secure, and some, like mine, can even connect to 3G to have internet anywhere.
They're not good gaming machines. If you're looking for a laptop that could game, you probably shouldn't be buying a $200 laptop in the first place. You'd probably want a more powerful Windows laptop for that.
But if you're looking for a netbook, they're definitely your best option.

>"appeal to ignorance"
Do you mean "argument from ignorance"? An argument from ignorance is when you claim, because we don't know something, that we can insert something into its place.
Such as,
A: God exists. B: How do you know that? A: Prove he doesn't.
My claim is simply logic.
p: Billions of people use Google. q: There are limited Google employees. r: Google reads what all its users do.
p∧q⇒¬r
That's my argument. p∧q⇒¬r
That's it.
>"read the ToS then come back"
Show me in the ToS where it says Google can publish the stuff you put in Google Drive. And show me a single case where this has happened.
>"google admits to scanning everything you do on Google to target you for ads"
Google has robots that record your searches and run them through algorithms to make ads more suitable for you.
That's nowhere near close to "reading everything you do".
A human never takes a look at your Google searches.

@dropbox
Dropbox. You may be right... But chrome books aren't computers. They are a 300 web browser. It's expected to just do. No viruses or games. It's just supposed to do Web browser things.

It has games, and the operating system can do everything the Windows or OSX operating systems can do.
You can install native games that run offline in their individual windows on it just like any other OS.

| It barely has any support and I'd rather not have everything I do be a part of Google's data collection. |

| True. Chromebooks don't have very good support. Google does a terrible job at marketing it. They market the Chromebook as a netbook. It's a good netbook, but it'll never be more than a good netbook because they don't market it as anything else. |
