| why do people use the "cheater" meshes? for example, i find a prevalence of the ring meshes in places meant to be artistic, and it gives me a headache. if you say "it's not possible to build well without meshes!!!!"- http://www.roblox.com/catlover5017-item?id=176425126 over 1500 parts, took me like 15-20 minutes or so. |

| Can't make something that looks smooth and professional without meshes. Gear... except 8-bit ones are meshes. Every 3D asset in catalog (not model) is made of meshes. (Except 8-bit ones.) Just deal with it. You can't use meshes. Without meshes, you cannot build nice looking things. A headphone mesh is better than your stupid blocks. |

| just to mention the fact that i'm referring to " for example, i find a prevalence of the ring meshes in places meant to be artistic, and it gives me a headache."-obviously applies to building not the catalog or hats. learn to read. and you can build nice things pretty easily. meshes are a lazy way to make rings and more exotic shapes people don't have the skill to make themselves. |

| But meshes look more smoother, and don't have parts protruding. That's why people use them. Although, you are right, I don't really use meshes a lot, bricks can build a lot. The rest, only meshes. |

| yeah. usually only very skilled builders can use minimal to no meshes at all. even though i've seen skilled builders who do, in fact, use meshes. |

| and i'm not really talking about meshes like cylinder meshes and block meshes, or the cylinder/block meshes that allow you to make the part smaller. same with the wedge mesh and the trapezoid (maybe, although i wouldn't usually say wedge/trapezoid but roblox makes corner variation with bricks annoyingly difficult so) |

| There's nothing wrong with using meshes if you want to build with bricks that's fine it usually reduces lag when you use meshes. My friend used to prefer to build a 10x10 wall with many 2x2 bricks while I just scaled 1 10x10 brick there is no difference for the end result |

WHOOAAAA. There's a BIG difference. It blows up better!! A traditional bomb can't blow into pieces a single 10x10 brick, but many 2x2 bricks can be separated to blow up the wall. Big difference! |

| ^ edit: it's the 2x2 connected bricks that blows up better, not the 10x10 |

yeah, but what if they were anchored? Or welded to a anchored part? |

| I think meshes add a sense of creativity to the game. I have used all kinds of meshes in Noob Slayers, mostly for the various weapons ( of which I will have more coming out some time soon ). Meshes play an important part in the development of ROBLOX. I bet ROBLOX U can delve into it more if your still wondering. |

Well, without meshes, you wouldnt have packages... without meshes you wouldnt have gear or good looking custom tools |

I'm being honest here, I think meshes look DISGUSTING. There is no texture to any meshes I have ever seen, and there is such little detail to my eye. It's bland. I think a brick circle looks better then a mesh ring.
CSG is not for lazy people, and meshes are for lazy people, there's a difference.

| Meshes look much smoother and nicer. And there are textures for meshes, idiot. If there wasn't, how would there be textures on gear and hats?! |

| agree with asian on the look of meshes. although i don't use csg aside from lag reduction of grass using union. |
