Discovered by Edwin Hubble inn.. 1930 ( I think , going off by heart here ) I'm trying to make this short to keep the attention of people. -- So let's simulate the expansion here, put your hands on your head beside your eyes. You will notice that your field of vision expands as it goes farther. That is how they think it started. Everything has to start from one spot, right?
Edwin was measuring the distance between distant galaxies using light, and he discovered that the galaxies were increasing the distance, this is the beginning of the expanding universe.
If it's infinity expanding then it had to start somewhere, that's why I showed you the eye trick. It started smaller and began to get wider and wider until it's current size. (also connects to the Big Bang theory)

How the universe ends
Big stars like our sun go out only leaving the dim stars
They burn out
The age of stars ends
The age of blackholes starts
Blackholes fade away
The last blackhole dies into a gamma ray burst
The age of nothing starts
The void of space goes dark once again
Forever

| Well, There isn't really any evidence if an expanding universe, except that the universe seems to go on forever. But besides that, there really isn't any proof, I mean, no molecular sign of an expanding universe at all. I do have a theory whatsoever, that time is somehow connected to spacial relationship and the expanding of the universe is what causes time to "stretch", as if the whole universe was silly putty being pulled on all ends |

Jasondee1, I agree. I'm not saying this is what I choose to believe, I am just discussing one of the theories of how large and how far the universe could be.
I might make a thread about my personal beliefs sometime this week - However knowing OT not sure if that will last. :) |

@Brandon
Did you know, that there are more stars like our sun stars like our sun then there are grains of sand in all the beaches in the world?, it would be impossible for all the stars like our sun to just "burn out", nebula would just create more.
Black Holes can't "burn out" or implode. Black holes ate what we call singularities, meaning when something REALLY REALLY big suddenly gets REALLY REALLY small, and causes some kind of fracture in space and a vaccum, a black hole, which gravitational force pulls you and minimizes you into nothing. |
