As you may already know, when you sell any kind of product on ROBLOX, being a hat, gear, clothing, etc, you know that you will be taxed 30% on the item which you sell.
Now, say you are selling an item for 10k R$, without tax you will obviously earn 10k if you sell it, but with tax, YOU ONLY EARN 7k R$! That is almost THREE THOUSAND R$ DOWN THE DRAIN!
So I've been wondering, where does that money really go?
ROBLOX already has a ton of users buying BC and hats, I don't see why they would need to take away this much R$ from us.
They should lower the tax to at least 15-20% rather than 30%.
If a mod could honestly say where this money goes, that would be helpful.

@MAMMOTH
"No, that's exactly 3k robux down the drain"
Ok, I get it. I made an error. Chill.
"Roblox tries to simulate to real world into their game."
That would be idiotic, as this tax does not help fund anything that ROBLOX makes, unlike the real world.

| Well roblox pretty much takes virtual finances, quite like a real taxing system may work, but throw you in the deep end. |

Fine.
The 30% market fee tax isn't worthless at all. Like all economies, a tax is necessary to maintain a proper balance within the market to avoid things like inflation. Keep in mind that I don't know a lot about economies & marketing, but I do know that a tax fee is most likely used to keep a balance. A fraction of your money that is taken from you is also used to help further development of the game because ROBLOX needs to pay their employees as well. They cannot simply rely on one source of income to continue paying their employees. This is just what I think, so pardon me for my ignorance. |

you say they try to simulate real life...yet if you walked in the street and traded an item + money with someone, 30% of the money would not randomly disappear xD
Always thought if you was gonna murder somebody you should face em, tell em why, look them dead in the eye, then waste em. |

It's not "tax", it's a marketplace fee.

Roseart,
That's exactly the difference between a game & real life. Of course no government in their right mind would charge 30% tax to their citizens. |

| it's at 30% instead of 6% because the economy is bad enough. Unless you want it worse... |

robux is stored in a virtual bank.
this is where all the robux you get daily is dished out, and whenever you make a sale to roblox this is where it goes, et cetera.
much like the real world, money doesnt just grow on trees and they can't 'virtually add' any form of currency to your account, real or fake.
the 30% tax fee is to keep robux less inflated than it is and to keep a fair balance in the economic system of roblox |

Yeah it kinda sucks. But it's just another way to get around to having people buy more robux.
For example. If I sell an item for 1000 robux, and I have a 30% tax on it than I would only be making 700 Robux. Well that 300 Robux that I want, so guess what I do. I raise the price of my item to cover that gap. The more expencive my item is, the more robux the consumer needs to buy it. Leading them into buying Robux with real money.
Kinda shady but roblox is a Company. A Company only purpose is to make money |
