Use this link when I reference a picture to more clearly understand what I'm talking about:

As we all know, character customization is a huge part of Roblox, and there are hundreds of thousands of unique combos to make. However, when a hat is created, where the actual mesh is placed can make or break a hat combo. By allowing the end user to place the mesh exactly where they want, this unlocks many more customization options and improves quality of outfits.
Here’s what I mean by “moving the mesh” to where you want. This picture is a combo of Dominus Empyreus, Hooded Flaming Skull, and Flame Brain (picture 1, item 1).
As you can see the hood mesh from the Empyreus pushes through part of the skull and causes the black area which I think affects the quality of the combo. Here’s what it could look like after being edited to fit exactly how the end user would want. (picture 1, item 2)
I think it looks much better now. I could show you a ton of different combos that can be made better using this idea, here’s a few of them (picture 1, item 3). Edited versions of the same combos (picture 1, item 4).
These are just a few of the combos I’d like, I’m sure others could find thousands more that are fixed by changing the offset of the mesh of their hat(s).
A system similar to the 3D rendering system could be used for this to actually be created. Using a center point of interest (the character’s head), the user would be able to view all around the head by holding down right mouse button and moving around. Assuming a limit to how much people can move their hats around (I suggest ½ a stud and no more than 1 stud, that is a LOT of room for small edits like I did), a move tool can be used to adjust the position of the hat.
At the side of the window, buttons can be placed to select which hat the user wants to edit (picture 2, item 1), an individual option beside each hat in the inventory (picture 2, item 2), or a separate button at the top like “Wardrobe” and “Outfits” (picture 2, item 3). A measurement option would also be helpful, so you can choose whether the move scale is a tenth, hundredth, or thousandth of a stud (picture 2, item 4).
Once the edits are completed, the user can press “save” and the offset positions are sent back to Roblox servers and are applied to the character (picture 2, item 5).
There’s no way for me to test my idea because I am changing properties within items on the site, unlike the 3D system which just loads items on a character. I didn’t want to include too many details here to keep this a short read, but this is the basic idea.
Let me know what you think below.

Seems tedious to mess around with (and I know I wouldn't want to), but okay I guess.
