zero isnt a positive/negative integer, it is just zero - midpoint of the number line
it may be a whole number, but if you divide a nonzero integer by zero, you get zero, as if the nonzero integer doesnt exist
when you get to trigonometry and graph cosine, secant, sine, cosecant, tangent and cotangent functions and get asymptotes on your graph (looks squiggly), you see why zero isnt considered like other whole numbers |
