I have a bunch of Pokemon, but all of a sudden, I cross into land where it rains constantly, and the trainees there bombard me with water type Pokemon. I just lost my best one, and all my othees are about 10 levels below the top Pokemon (RIP).
I obviously didn't think this through and relied on brute force to win every battle. I did win a lot because of the non-rain environment but now that I've focued so much time away from the environment and more, I'm going to get all of my Pokemon killed (or they'll faint). |

Get a fast grass type or bug type that can stun them or make them fall asleep. Or you could go for a psychic or ghost type and use confusion. |

"What game What route Current pokemon Current TMs"
Pokemon Diamond Version ?? I had bad choices: LVL 33 Monferno, LVL 18 Staravia, LVL 17 mostly for the rest: Geodude, Zubat, Hoothoot. I mainly used the Hoothoot for Hypnosis. And I'm about to check the TMs & HMs. |

I'm currently playing platinum, so i can give a few tips.
I think that route changed from pearl to plat.
The last part is a double battle, but if you talk to each one, you only have to fight one at a time, which is needed because that is probably one of the hardest fights in a pokemon game.
Also level your team up some more, having a balanced team give you better type coverage. |

I attacked (and won) by spamming with Monferno's Flame Wheel & Mach Punch. I admit, it was not a good idea constantly having him level up while the others stay 10+ levels down. I may head back to some easier places so my lower Pokemon can level up and not be killed (or fainted?) |

Consider catching a bunch of other pokemon and revisit the scientist in the 2nd gym town and get the exp share
That thing is invaluable |

| Yeah, that's what I'll do. I'm going to attempt to get all my Pokemon leveled up, drop some at the day care so I can catch for more valuable and powerful ones. |

You always want The holy trinity (fire water grass) Some people dont use em all though idk One with fly (Invaluable for getting around and such) Extras that suit you (Electric, dark/fairy, etc) If you breed one with flame body or something

[Oh god, that swamp area right? Am I remembering it correctly?
I was in the same situation as you years ago. With Diamond being the first pokemon game I ever played, that area had to be the place where I died again and again, just winning by brute force (Screw that double battle at the end).
I guess relying on Monferno as a kid was the worst mistake.]

Yeah, I'll think about getting the Holy Trinity. I'm not so sure about pure force to win. I've had some great battles where Hoothoot hypnotized the foe's Pokemon, I switched out and used my fatal move.

Which Pokemon usually get the best abilities? As in, Hypnosis or something like that? |

Abilities? You mean status moves? I usually go for a different approach involving powering up and lowering stats.
The group I had playing diamond (second pokemon game, had emerald before) were more on the brutish side
I suggest catching a ghastly when night comes, wigga comes with all sorts of status problem moves like confuse ray and hypnosis. |

I felt like my Monferno was OP, using the same moves on every other Pokemon. But then I began getting teamed on, then I went to the rain place and the water types continuously damaged by Pokemon. |
