So I am a writer. I have some work on creepypasta, and some more on reddit. I write as a hobby. Now, for the writers here, we all get the horrid writers block. Now, for me, I have trouble coming up with the INITIAL idea. The main idea and plot are hard for me to come up with. I write wonderful details.
I want to write a book. Yup, I do. I am having so much trouble with the plot idea. I want to do this, but I cant get anything GOOD. Now, if you give me a great idea and I use it, you will get the following perks: a mention in my book, 2 people you would like to dedicate the book to, some type of other promotion ( a YouTube channel or something along those lines ) I will pm you if I like your idea and we can collaborate through email or through the pm system.

I would like something not about vampires, or a romance/ sappy teenage book. I need something with MEANING.

How about a book about a haunted toaster that sounds like it's a joke but is actually a semi-creepy psychological horror story. Wait, no, I did that last year. |

| Wouldn't it work better to use your own idea? If you need writer prompts, you can just google it. |

I agree with Briar.
Most stories, if you aren't invested in the actual creative process of the idea, the story may not turn out as well since it's not your own idea and it's someone elses.
Not that I'm saying that its plagiarism or anything, just that it's easier to get excited about an idea that you, yourself, came up with. |

If you use someone else's idea, you might not understand it from their perspective fully and end up twisting it so much that it doesn't make much sense to either of you. Try using your own idea.
However, I have found a fairly reliable way of coming up with ideas (well, it works for me): Listen to some songs with deep lyrics and see what pops into your head. I was in the middle of singing along to nightcored Demons when I was blasted with inspiration. |

| Stop trying so hard, if you force an idea it could go wrong. Wait for it to come to you |
