It all started a year ago, when they came. It was a normal day, like any other, when above the atmosphere a wormhole of sorts opened up above the Earth and an alien orbital station of sorts exited through it and began to orbit around the Earth's atmosphere. A single transmission was sent all across the world, and everybody was able to hear and understand it in their own language of choice. It said short and simply:
"Your planet has been randomly selected for Biological Weapons Testing."
And as soon as that had been transmitted, the alien orbital station fired on the three cities across the the entire world with the highest population. It covered the entire cities with this fungus of sorts that appeared to look like living tissue. All those who were in these cities, both the people and animals, were then infected. Their skin turned inside out, their arms turned into fleshly blades, and they became intensely aggressive to all those not infected.
The fleshy fungus was able to spread on it's own, it was also supported by the fact where ever the infected walked they spread the fungus with them. As such it was not long before it had spread all across the world. For all it took to be infected was to be injured by one of the infected, or to have your bare skin come into contact with the fleshy fungus now covering most of the world.
At first the world tried every attempt to get into contact with the alien orbital station whether begging or demanding for help or reasons why they were doing this, all to no response. They then moved on to attacking it with every weapon known to the human arsenal, all attempts helplessly pinging off the energy force-field of the alien orbital station.
Finally America created the H.L.R., Humanity's Last Resort. Every last tax payer dollar went into their funding, as the H.L.R. created bunkers all across America to hold those who could reach them. While they were a heavily guarded safe haven, each one was given a population limit and once that was reached they no longer took in anymore survivors.
The H.L.R.'s military was also like none other, equipped with the weaponry needed to fight against the infection. As attack teams were sent out during the day, when the infected were less active, to kill the infected they could find and burn the infected fungus they came across, the only way to get rid of the infected fungus.
You're goal is to do your best to survive, and to try to make your way to one of the bunkers that was still open to taking in survivors.
[/Other Important Information\]
-It will be extremely easy for your character to die or become infected, and extremely hard to get from one bunker to the other. Don't complain.
-You will still be able to find and interact with other player's characters if you come across them, or be affected by the actions of a different player.
-Zones, the H.L.R. provides up to date maps of the United state's Zones. ^Black being a completely infected zone, meaning the fungus covers everything and it is swarming with the infected. Even the H.L.R. doesn't enter these. ^Red, meaning the area is spotted with the fleshy fungus and there are some infected within the area. ^White, the H.L.R. have completely cleared the area of all infected and burned away all the fungus. These are extremely few and far between.
-You can't start as a member of the H.L.R. or inside one of the bunkers. You can however join them or make you way to a bunker that still has room for survivors.
-The best weapons are considered those that can remove limbs or entrap the infected, as the only way the infected can be killed is for their limbs to be ripped off and then be burned. It's common knowledge among survivors.
-Put "Hope" in the other part of your CS, to state you've read everything so far.

Name: Leon Grace
Appearance: (Try to be detailed) Leon had black hair that fell around his head in a mess. It was rather long, given he always kept it medium length, and during this chaos he never got around to cutting it. So it falls about shoulder length. He wears a gas mask most of the time, that conceals his facial features. Beneath the gas mask is pale skin, gray eyes, and a rather boy-ish face. Leon stands at about 5'9, and weighs 160. His appearance is one of mediocrity, he eats pretty fine, what with all the looting and having a very special companion who will help him out in food searching. Nothing else to really note.
History: (How have you survived the past year since the infection started?) With the start of the infection, Leon virtually disappeared from the world. He had always been a zombie fanatic, and while infected spore fungus wasn't exactly it, he still had the supplies to survive. So he just up and left, disappearing all calm and collected in the chaos that had now become his world. He drove off in his truck, supplies packed up and he just drove.
His supplies helped him through the first few months, when it was truly the worst. Chaos spread like wildfire, while he barely stopped moving, only taking gas from cars, only trying to salvage. During this time, he rarely stopped driving, even though he was almost constantly being followed by infected that would just love to kill him. Some days he'd drive for up to 20 hours, running his tank nearly empty before refueling it, and resting.
Leon's course changed apon meeting his first, and so far only, group member. A black lab named Shadow. Together, he and shadow just went through the wasteland on their own. By then, he had ran out of fuel and now normally just walked places. He dressed up the dog in a spare gas mask, and covered it in silly looking armor. Regardless of how silly it looked, it helped out. During their partnership, they helped eachother immensely. Leon by keeping Shadow feed, and Shadow being a watch dog along with finding useful things occasionally.
During all this time, Leon rarely saw another soul who either wasn't fighting for their life, or infected. It was rather lonely, so he took to teaching his dog things, and talking to it a lot. Despite knowing that Shadow most likely didn't know what he was saying, sometimes he could spend hours talking to the black lab dressed all silly. By now it had been the tenth month, the season returning back. How odd it was, that the environment was still mostly unaffected. If you ever got into a forest, it was almost like nothing happened. Almost.
It was during his twelfth month all alone he heard of the bunkers, and truly intrigued, he decided he might as well. After all, it's better to be safe with others, then alone and out in this. So he began his travels towards the mythical bunkers, ready for whatever challenge would try to stop him.
Group: (It's considered to be near impossible to survive alone, so most people stick together in groups with the closest bunker being their destination to reach.) He travels with his dog, Shadow. It's a watch dog that is trained to sniff out the scents of the infected fungus, and immediately run over to Leon and annoy him until he patted Shadow on the head three times. This annoyance was normally caused by Shadow pawing Leon, or sitting on his head. Both worked.
Equipment: (Everything from weapons to anything else your character has on them) Leon carried a backpack, in it contained about eight water bottles, some cans of dog food, some canned pasta, a can opener, a lighter, a water purifier, and some extra gas mask canisters. It looked rather bulky, given how much was in it. He had two gas masks, one on his face, and one on Shadow's face. Shadow would often paw it off, that didn't stop Leon from putting it on Shadow regardless. He carries a ring of lighters like a belt around him, for burning things. Leon also carries a machete strapped to his side, stuck in it's pouch.
Bunker Number: (Which Bunker are you closest to? Any number between 1-200. Hint hint, if you want to interact with another player's character your best bet is to be around the same bunker as them) 1989

Accepted, although 1989 isn't a number between 1 and 200. You should say something to fix that. Here's your thread:

Name: Raider Brian.
Appearance: His clothes are a black leather jacket 'reinforced' with a couple maps picked up off of corpses. Also on the jacket are quite a few pouches.
On one of his shoulders is a very dented steel shoulder pad leading up to the jackets sleeve stitched together with parts of a white hazmat suit.
The other arm is simply a yellow hazmat suit stitched to the leather jacket.
On his head is a very makeshift helmet made out of motorcycle parts, covering most of his head but one of his eyes.
It's unclear what his pants are, but it appears to be a pair of jeans modified with several upgrades, including a couple parts of football gear and carved wooden bits.
As for himself, he is a Caucasian male with a couple scars from fights all over his body, and it's clear he is missing a couple toes and his left hand's middle finger.
He has a brown hair color with blue eyes eyes, although he shaves most of his hair excluding his bread and body hair.
He is somewhat muscular, but not the super-buff superman commonly depicted as the strong person.
History: Part of one of the biker gangs that joined together, he panicked to find the other members once the fungus had landed on the planet, due to sheer luck he managed to find them and was one of the few that learned how to survive without dying.
They had commonly staged 'raids' on old supermarkets and the fast food places by sending scouts to find the best way in, although this gained them a lot of supplies they quickly lost a lot of members and then stopped, which led them to look for a bunker.
Group: A couple biker gangs that joined together (after quite a bit of fighting of fighting) becoming one group now called the Spearmen that scraped their motorcycles in exchange for spears and armor, having around a hundred members a year ago, now reduced to sixteen people trying to get to a bunker.
Equipment: Several pouches containing food and water and a backpack for storing other items.
The backpack contains a couple makeshift throwing spears for pinning infected down made from tree branches and salvaged metal parts, among the other things it has is a talkie walkie, molotov cocktail like grenades made out of gas mask filters, and a couple lighters.
On the sides of the backpack is a long(er then the throwing spears) spear made entirely of metal also made for pinning infected down, a somewhat large makeshift bladed weapon made out of rebar for the handle and sharpened salvaged metal for the blade.
Bunker Number: 135
Other: Hope.
I hope this is good enough, and sorry for any spelling mistakes, i haven't proofread it yet. |
