[I] - [INTRODUCTION]

Baristas, they are the 2nd pillars of our Z&D Coffee®, after our trainees. They provide us with the perfect coffee blends that Z&D Coffee® is known for, and without them, we wouldn't be where we are today. So, we decided to carefully craft this guide to the best of our ability, in order to teach, guide and mentor out Baristas, so that they can be come, yet again, a major piece of our business, of our family. Welcome to Zavel & Difecto's Coffee.

[1] - [WHAT DOES IT TAKE?]

So, you would like to become a Barista, you have already shown great courage, as the steps that follow require that we put your patience, skills and politeness to the test, and that you, by yourself do the same.

To become a Barista, one must first be truly focused, and aware of the immerse working that making and becoming a Barista takes. So, you must first ask yourself, are you ready to become the elite of Z&D Coffee®?

You've kept on reading, huh? Either that means your decision has been made, or you are already a successful administrative seeking on how to train Baristas. In both cases, I congratulate you for your effort. Now, regarding the necessary skills you will need:

- Hardworking
- Patience
- Politeness

It also helps to have a good memory, though you will be able to use the recipe guide.
■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
[2] - [STEP BY STEP, RANK BY RANK]

In the section depicted below, we will cover each rank, their required levels of skills, and how to train for that rank.

[1.2] - [TRAINEE]
This is were it starts, trainees must undergo extensive, carefully planned and timed training, to ensure that the basics stick, and stay inside the mind. And work with your trainee to get to know the machines. At this point, you are allowed to work at the bar, but you must not be alone. You start knowing some basic recipes, which you can ask for. At this rank, you should know:

- Names of the coffee machines/toppings
- How to understand the Recipe Guide
- How the machines work
- How to Hand Cups
- Be polite and helpful
- Basic recipes

[2.4] - [BARISTA I]
You can finally work in the bar alone! Congratulations, as you now know how to be an efficient, helpful and polite barista! At this stage, you should know:

- Everything stated in the "TRAINEE" section
- How to work WITHOUT the recipe guide

[2.5] - [BARISTA II+]
Are the tip jars full? Do the customers push each other so that you serve their coffee? Do the security step a barrier around you because other baristas keep trying to flood you with questions? This means that you are ready for the experienced barista rank. By this time, other baristas should look up to you as a mentor, and customer should talk to you as their talking to a friend. You helped shape Z&D Coffee®, and now its time we award you for that.

By this time, you should have given a hand to other Baristas, and requested for an award for your hard work. You should know:

- Everything stated in the BARISTA section and above
- How to help troubled customers
- How to guide other baristas
- Basic jobs of management

[2.6] - [UP, UP, AND BEYOND]
Now you have reached SB, you should be proud of yourself. But if the sky's the limit, then maybe it's time to fill in a supervisor application, or to meet your always helpful CMO, and request for an interview. You have truly made so many achievements, that Zavel even cried while making this guide [TRUE STORY]. The application must be done by yourself, even the questions must be made up by yourself. Prove to yourself and to me, that you deserve the rank of leadership.
