| I feel bad for people who already have a 3DS, this basically makes it so that games that use the new buttons of this "New" 3DS can't really be played on the old one. So it's kind of like Nintendo killed their own handheld in 3 years. Unless there's a way to play it on the old 3DS. The "New" 3DS is basically what the original 3DS should have been, an extra thumb pad, more L and R buttons, better 3D, and a few other things such as Micro SD support. |

Agreed.
I find it kinda worrying that Nintendo "killed off" their handheld in 3 years.

micro sd support is bs considering you could've used a sd to micro sd adapter in the first place.
now whenever you want to transfer your 3ds data you'll need an adapter. gg nintendo, gg |

@wedgearyxsaber
So far there is no official name it seems, but in the ad or whatever, it was called the "New" 3DS. I guess they let the same person who named the Wii U name this one too. |

I saved up a long time to afford my 3DS. If you ask me Nintendo should just stop. They're making the new handhelds so people will be forced to buy that on top of any new games but really, it's just too costly for customers. Wii U sorta failed and Nintendo is going down the drain.
If you ask me the new 3DS idea is just crap. If there aren't enough buttons use the touch screen. They'll lose money if they keep wasting their budget on useless upgrades to game consoles/handhelds that are already perfectly functional.
Heck, the gameboy only had 2 buttons and a d-pad for main gameplay function and that still worked. |

Mobile games suck But really, the system has enough buttons anyway. Just poke the stylus at the screen and yeah, it isn't great but don't force us to pay for a new systen entirely to play new releaaes. |

I never thought about using the touch screen, but still, using a stylus and poking the screen wouldn't be the best compromise, if there's even a better one. That's kind of why I said this should have been the original 3DS, it's sort of okay when Nintendo releases an XL or whatever, but this version basically is a semi-next gen console, which could end up killing the 3DS when it could still be going strong. |

Even add ons would be better, Japan has this circle-pad pro add on thing, which acts as a second circle-pad. |

| Exactly, even if touch screen isn't the best way, at least it's acceptable and we won't have to spend the same and extra. |

@ZangooseSlash
That's true, but the fact that there could be games where you would need a whole different console to pay isn't a good thing. This is currently just my opinion. I'll wait a year or two after it launches, and see what happens. |

That's kind of what I said. I said that instead of making a whole new console with extra buttons, why not just have these extra buttons be add ons that wouldn't end up costing the price of a new console? |

The 3ds adds in the new circle pad and two back buttons similar to the xbox/playstation controllers.
It wouldn't work well to be using the 2nd circle pad and two buttons while already using the standard circle pad and abxy buttons
Just sell your 3ds if its that big of a deal you must get a few exclusive games. |

Well, then again, there's the integration of the ZL and ZR buttons (I believe that's what they are called), which can benefit third person shooters to the "new" 3DS.

Because the 3ds has limited input and it wasnt designed to be modded as such.
There's the charging input and the audio input
thats all. |

I know that I could sell my 3DS and end up not having to pay much money, but I'm just saying that a whole new console isn't necessary for what it's going to be used for. |

Oh wow, I didn't even think about the inputs. Sorry, my bad. I guess that they are kind of forced to make a whole new console then. :/ |

| Also, don't forget that the new 3ds will have an improved processor and network adapter, improving performance and network connectivity. controls aren't the only new thing. |

I enjoyed my short time with the 2DS (3 fu-sensor-ing hours playing it, still had fun), so I might give it a chance in 2015.
