"Hail those who carry the burden of this glorious land."
[Table of Contents] . Premise . Current Lore/Plots . Factions . Locations . Rules . Alignments . CS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [/Premise\]
"Ah... Archium. One of the most diverse, most glorious lands that I have discovered. Few other continents have thrust me into the levels of emotion that I have felt there... and even fewer hold so many secrets, so many discoveries, and so many levels of magic as that land.
"In the time that I spent there, I've encountered so many unique opportunities, challenges, and people. I have learned ways that I never knew existed. I have thrived for so long there... and yet, I have yet to discover even a fraction of the things that it holds..."
Archium, a realm where your own fantasies have no boundaries. A land where species of all kinds have flourished. Where the line between real and unreal seemingly exist not...
Where danger lingers in the darkest corners, and adventurer occurs even on the most remote of locations.
Where humans, orcs, demons, elves, dwarfs, goblins, and all sorts of creatures reside. From kings to conquerors, peasants to slaves, your path throughout this land is yours alone. Choose wisely. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [/Current Lore/Plots\]
(More lore will be added as the RP progresses)
The Shadow Crusade- One of the earliest of chaotic forces to invade Archium, this land has been shaped by the corruption the Inferno Phalanx has cast upon us. They are responsibly for the creation of a plethora of chaotic versions of mythical species, and their carnage has been the factor to the creation of smaller factions. However, as many millennia have gone by, their leaders have been all but blocked from entering this world. However, their chaos persist. As threats rise in the name of this Phalanx, those brave enough must dispatch them... before they enact the return of the chaotic days...
Uprising of the Afflicted- Day by day, more are slaughtered in their mindless attacks. Yet gradually, the fallen are risen... as the Afflicted, minions serving under the Nether Lord. Though this threat has yet to be fully unleashed, people are warned of this 'affliction', this plague that resurrects those that it infects, and causes them to rise as mindless creatures, abominations, horrors. These creatures... are straight from nightmares. Entities from stories told by parents looking to scare their children into obedience. Knowledge on this affliction is continuously gathered, and studies are being made to reverse it. At this point, the key objective is to resist the plague, to protect oneself from being inflicted with it...
Outbreak of the Wereven- It was said that long ago, the Dark Elves sought ways to receive knowledge of how to master abilities that are used in flow with nature. Though already practitioners of such abilities, they wanted to break the boundaries of it, to go beyond natural. So, they turned to powers beyond reckoning.... They turned to the ancient lord known as Drakorven, who would bestow them with the abilities known as 'Wereven'. However, they were unable to contain such power... and become wolfish humanoids, with minds focused on nothing more than slaughter. This was thought to be a mere myth... until these energies were unleashed within the small town known as Grihorn, spreading this Wereven disease throughout its inhabitants. In the process, the town was destroyed... and this curse was reenacted. However, recent studies have shown that certain mystical methods have enabled one to control themselves within such a state, and even transform back into their regular forms. One can only hope that such a discovery will save whatever humanity might be left in these creatures... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [/Factions\]
(More factions will be developed as the RP progresses)
The Warfare Crusade: In direct opposition of the Unified Coalition, The Warfare Crusade has the goal of using magic to better themselves and the people within it, whether or not it goes against nature. Though not particularly 'evil', the Warfare Crusade has harsher and more militaristic views of the world.
Unified Coalition: In direct opposition of the Warfare Crusade, The Unified Coalition seeks to set the world back on a path to its natural states, looking to cleanse corruption from its roots, and to chastise those who use the ways of magic in forms abnormal to nature.
The Afflicted: The Afflicted is the growing faction consisting of beings either infected with the plague of (un)death, or those who were revived by the power-hungry necromancers in service to such a faction. Their goals are currently unknown, as they are rather new to Archium...
The Inferno Phalanx: The head cult that controls certain territories within the Netherworld, the Inferno Legion was founded by the bloodthirsty titan, Triutus, who would use the Inferno Legion to cleanse Archium of its 'unworthy' specimen. They are perhaps the most evil force to have struck this world, and the cause of much corruption through these lands...
(There are many smaller factions that needn't any mention) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [/Locations\]
(Locations are open to change as the RP progresses, meaning that certain plot outcomes may shape locations. Also, not ALL locations are listed here, but the main ones within this RP. Note that some places are actually within these lands, such as canyons and certain cities)
Ranldor: Ranldor is the most center zone of Archium, and is filled with multiple Human and Elven kingdoms. There tends to be much rivalries between these kingdoms, a direct result of opposing factions and species.
Anamor: This is where a large number of beings reside, here in the city of Anamor. Anamor is a very busy city, and is very convenient to those who choose to travel here. It has many vessels and such that allow people to travel to different locations, as well as places where people can simply use portals to travel to the locations they so choose.
Frostreave: A land of uncontrollable wilderness, Frostreave is a place where not TOO many people travel, do to its frigid weather. There are rumors of certain shadowy factions within this place, but those are just rumors, right? Wrong. To those of weak will, going here is certain death...
Scorchia: Scorchia, also known as the home of the Orcs, as well as the location of most of the species serving the Warfare Crusade. Some parts of it are a battlezone, as the Coalition and WFC are constantly battling over contested territories here.
The Great South: The Great South consists of lush forest, and certain Kingdoms that wish to seclude themselves from other civilizations. It is a mysterious, adventure filled land where many discoveries are made. Several remote islands are known to be near the great south, as well as many historic locations...
The Gorge- The Gorge is a giant tear in the earth, leading to who knows where! Harsh, unpredictable, and home to the most legendary of monsters, The Gorge has been deemed unsuitable for beings to live, marked as an extremely dangerous location...
Lavarock Peaks- The Lavarock peaks are where many fire, lava, and some rock elementals choose to reside, do to its burning temperatures and crazy atmosphere. Expect many chasms throughout this general location, along with plenty of adventurous opportunities.
The Forgotten City- A city lost in struggle... buried throughout the decades... bearing the secrets of mystic arts. The Forgotten City has been shrouded by a very powerful branch of magic. Its very atmosphere has been said to give off a form of cryptic aura. Perhaps this is the resting place of the Old Ones...
The Netherworld: (Accessible by the Realmscar) The Netherworld is the location filled with the highest number of demons. Corruption flows through the very atmosphere within this realm, and this is home to the cults that feed off of the demonic power within this place. Regular mortals would die here in mere minutes. The netherworld is living proof of the corruption that can be inflicted upon realms. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [/Rules\] . No Godmodding: Instantly completing task that could be reasonably stopped by another player.
. No Powerplaying: Controlling another person's character without PM or thread permission from that player.
. No constant No-Selling: When you always and repeatedly dodge a character's attack. Yes, you decide the outcome of what happens to your character after and attack, but ALWAYS dodging attacks without a logical explanation isn't fair for the other player.
. If you wish to create your own faction, have an idea, or want to cause large scale destruction, PM me first.
. Locations, lore, and plots will be added as the RP progresses.
. You aren't necessarily required to become apart of a faction, though it is wise to do so, as rogues are generally considered neutral or rejects to certain factions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [/Alignments\] -Lawful Good: A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished.
-Neutral Good: A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them.
-Chaotic Good: A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society.
-Lawful Neutral: A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government.
-True Neutral: A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. She doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil-after all, she would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, she's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way.
-Chaotic Neutral: A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it.
-Lawful Evil: A lawful evil villain methodically takes what he wants within the limits of his code of conduct without regard for whom it hurts. He cares about tradition, loyalty, and order but not about freedom, dignity, or life. He plays by the rules but without mercy or compassion. He is comfortable in a hierarchy and would like to rule, but is willing to serve. He condemns others not according to their actions but according to race, religion, homeland, or social rank. He is loath to break laws or promises.
-Neutral Evil: A neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with. She is out for herself, pure and simple. She sheds no tears for those she kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. She has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make her any better or more noble. On the other hand, she doesn't have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has.
-Chaotic Evil: A chaotic evil character does whatever his greed, hatred, and lust for destruction drive him to do. He is hot-tempered, vicious, arbitrarily violent, and unpredictable. If he is simply out for whatever he can get, he is ruthless and brutal. If he is committed to the spread of evil and chaos, he is even worse. Thankfully, his plans are haphazard, and any groups he joins or forms are poorly organized. Typically, chaotic evil people can be made to work together only by force, and their leader lasts only as long as he can thwart attempts to topple or assassinate him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [/Character Sheet\] Name: Age: Gender: Species: Appearance: Clothing: Biography: Alignment: Faction (Not Required): Other: Inventory: Personality: |

Appearance: Vorin stands about six feet tall, with a greyish fur and a black mane which he keeps braided. His beard also contain six black braids of the length of a human hand. He is strongly built, and his horns curve around his head and bend to point outwards, showing off their brownish tips and a pale beige base. Clothing: He wears chain with a blue metallic plating. His legs and hooves are covered by a chain kilt. His head features no protection, unless he decides to wear his battle helmet, which covers his face like a mask of an angry (Tauren?) Biography: Vorin had lived with his family up until the age of 14, when the Coalition raided his town and took him captive. In the prison, he met with an orcish shaman who taught him the ways of the elements. He was in the prison for six years until a mass jailbreak occurred, allowing for him to slip away. In a few short years of freelancing around he heard of a group called the Servitors, and their purpose of serving the elements. He sought them out, and though it was rough, he persevered and became a member of the organization, working for the elements, protecting them from disasters, evils, and rogue elementals. Alignment: Lawful Neutral Faction (Not Required): The Servitors Other: ... Hi? Inventory: A massive two-handed hammer, made of metals to project the lightning bolts of his powerful mastery of air magic. Personality: Vorin may have once had an individual personality, but since the Servitors, anything that would separate him from the others are well-hidden philosophies and opinions. He seems to only know the word of the laws of the Servitors, the Speaker, and the elements. He often does his work by rashly handling his problems head on and protecting the members who work to mend the elements. |

(Both accepted.
Though Consul, as the Afflicted is still in its growing stages, try not to attack too many villges with the necromancer character. Later on during the plot, people will be able to do more with characters within the Afflicted, as the faction will have expanded to a certain degree) |

(I'll make the first post)
[Quintus]
It had been 6 days since Quintus was sent on this mission. This mission to find the source of this plague... this plague that had desecrated so many innocent people. That had claimed the lives of those who had contracted it, and unwillingly risen them in the form of mindless undeath.
'They'll make a cure to it soon...' Quintus thought, forcing himself to think positive. But even he could not help it if the tiniest thought... a simple thought of the chaos that could occur if the plague wasn't stopped soon.
No, he would stop it before it happened. He would find the one responsible for this, and he would strike them with the fury of those who had fallen victim. He would complete this mission, or he would die trying... |

[Vorin]
Vorin stood around while some of the other Servitors were busy discussing the land. It was some time ago since the Speaker had told him of the situation. The dead were rising, walking, amassing themselves into a massive army. The dead needed to stay bury to give life to the land and the element of Earth, making it one problem. However, whatever magic that was causing this was a even more pressing concern, not just harming the element but corrupting it. The Servitors hadn't ever encountered something like this since the march of the Inferno Phalanx. It was disturbing...
But it was not his job to to worry about this. These lands were full of the undead. His job was to protect while the others sought out ways to purge the magic from the earth.
Too bad it smelled so hideously... |

Devius & Gorion:
Frostreave steps into view, and Gorion sighs, saying he can not take the walking anymore.
Devius: I shout loudly "Dam* The Afflicted! Why do they send me and my Servent here!? I SHOULD BE RULING! I SHOULD BE KING!" I stop, and stomp the snow.
Gorion: "Do not forget the task at hand. We are to find the bones of an ancient monster, and bring it back to them. I do not know why, though..." I hand a picture to Devius.
Devius looks at the drawing of the so-said-ancient bones. He scoffs, and keeps on walking. Gorion sighs again, for he despises having to put up with him. They walk over the snow, looking for bones. |
