Why do I have to be labelled as an Atheist if I do not believe in any religion or spirituality? I don't want to be anything I just want to be myself. Who cares let people believe in what they want but don't label people and look down at them because they don't follow your ways, for all you know Scientology could be real! I am just tired of people fighting over religion I am why do we need it or why can't people just respect people? thanks this is my opinion

| Labeling comes from Babylon society, I get where you're coming from and it sucks if you're nothing because you still end up getting labeled. |

I know but thats not fare i dont want to be called an athiest. I just think that a silly word made up by some religious group to label someone to doesn't follow them is basically like calling them a "peasant"

theist = with religion a = without
without religion = atheist
It's basically english language.
Although you could technically call yourself an agnogstic atheist if that sounds better. |

"theist = with religion"
Incorrect.
It means "with god(s)" while atheist means "not with god(s)". |

"Why do I have to be labelled as an Atheist if I do not believe in any religion or spirituality"
Because if you don't believe in any religion, that makes you an atheist. The label is an easy way to identify your beliefs, as opposed to a long speech about your exact beliefs. Ex. "I'm an agnostic anti-theist" vs. "I don't have a problem with people believing in a god, but I believe that organized religion is harmful to both the individuals who follow it and society as a whole." |

Stupidest thing I have ever read.
That is like being Asian and saying, "Why do I have to be labelled an Asian? I do not want to be labelled Asian. I want to be myself." |

| It's just kind of weird that "atheist" is a label, it's like if you don't have hobbies you have to be called a non-hobbyist or if you don't play video games you have to be called a non-gamer. Aren't those just a bit pointless? |

""atheist" isn't really a label"
Technically it is. Because, you know, it's a word that you can assign to people or things.
Merriam-Webster English dictionary...
"label noun 3. a descriptive or identifying word or phrase" |

Okay, what's wrong with identity though? Yeah, we're all humans, that's a necessary label. "Atheist", however, is sorta... unneeded for the most part. To me, it sounds like "non-drug-user" or "non-pet-haver". |
