Why is it whenever I tell anyone I'm a conservative they react as if I had confessed to a crime? Why do people use neoliberal as an insult? This is mostly directed at the left.
It's not a crime to think differently, is it?

Contradiction
Libertarian capitalist is a better word for it, but conservatives are authoritarian. |

| Yeah, I guess. Labels. But still, if I call a communist something negative I'll surely get flamed. When they insult us, it's a good thing that they did. |

>"if I call a communist something negative I'll surely get flamed" >is in america
I'm a communist, and I get flamed 24/7. When I insult a conservative or a capitalist in general (even though I just argue my position), I get flamed even more. |

| I'm not an american, and I don't live in America either. I'm from Argentina, and whenever someone doesn't agree with the left they call him/her a neoliberal, which they equate to a criminal. |

I can't say anything against such strong arguments. Neoliberalism is bad. And Jon Stewart makes fun of the right.
Ok I converted I'm a leftist now. |

socialism makes everyone poor so everyone is equal.
neoliberalism makes a few very rich, a lot more or less comfortable, and a lot of people poor
i'd rather choose the system where at least some have a good standard of living |

you don't get it. in socialism there is no poor. there is no money. there aren't these old materialistic moral values it is a very different system that you simply cannot compare or try to fit into the boundaries of the capitalist system |

i'm talking in practice, not in theory. because in theory capitalism will make everyone equal in the long run, and we both know that's not true.
in practice, in all countries that tried to be socialist or communist, the standard of living was poor, with a few short periods of relative prosperity. housing was of poor quality (you can see most socialist housing projects are now very decayed or abandoned), public transport was outdated and inefficient when compared with capitalist countries, and there was barely any private transport. and those are just two examples.
as i said, practice, not theory. |

| thats because socialism only works globally and there are other factors, for example if the government is authoritarian, then it will fail too. |

the only way to tell people "hey, give up your house and your car so someone you don't know on the other end of the country can be better off" is by forcing them. or decades and decades of re-education. so in practice, it has to be authoritarian.
and corruption. there's corruption in both systems, but in capitalism you wouldn't have to bribe some government official to do things like be allowed to buy a car or have your plumbing fixed quickly. |
