You just finished communicating with your leader, and you could not believe this. You were going to have to hold this bridge against almost impossible odds. Despite this you knew how important the bridge was to the victory of your great empire, so you decided to prepare your army.

You have:
25 "tanks" 25 "planes" 100 Riflemen 100 Machine Gunners 250 Recruits
Tanks-Actually more of a hover tank, these will be good for possible offensive strikes to attack them at the other side of the bridge if you manage to force them to temporarily retreat
Planes-More of a futuristic space ship from Halo then anything, these are bombers of sorts, good for possibly bombing them while crossing through.
Riflemen/Machine Gunners-You know.
Recruits-These are less trained versions of the machine gunners and riflemen, and have an extreme morale debuff. However, they are plentiful and expendable. |

Alright, I want to set up 3 man fortifications across the bridge, each manned by 2 riflemen and 1 machine gunner. Leapfrog, zigzag pattern, so if one or more are forced to retreat, the ones behind them can cover.
At the end of the bridge, set up a defensive line with all the remaining machine gunners and riflemen. Tanks are to be behind them providing long range support. Planes and recruits are to remain behind the line to deploy where they are needed. |

Done.
A radar in your personal tent in the war camp picks up many heat signatures heading your way, and if you look closely enough, you can sort of see your enemy. |

| About 250, but if what your leader said is true, there's a hell of a lot more coming your way. |

| Alright, strategy time. If enemies get too close to the fortifications, the soldiers there are to pack up and move back, leaving the trio behind them to cover them. If enemy armor rolls up, I want planes to take off and destroy them. |

Heavily armed machine gunners begin making their way forward.
A light suddenly flashes on the desk, coming from a tube.
"AIR SUPPORT READY!"
Air Support-Every so often you will be able to call air strikes on the enemy forces moving forward, giving you a slight edge over them. |

| Order the soldiers to open fire when the enemy is in range. Have the tanks fire into the enemy ranks from afar. |

| The machine gunners begin dropping like flies, however they seem more occupied on attempting to set up some sort of base of operations on the bridge. |

A small forcefield opens up on their position. It won't last forever, though.

Launch a bomber to cut off enemies moving to that position, and send some riflemen recruits and a few regular riflemen to take out the forcefield and all enemies inside it.
(I am assuming that the forcefield will block energy but not solid bodies. If I am wrong, forget the order to send the riflemen.) |

The bombers cut off some of the troops.
The men get in and secure the base.
Part of the reinforcements arrive.
Anti Air Guns-These weapons can be used to take out the hostile bombers, once they come. |

Send some machine gunners and more riflemen to the newly captured base. Set it up as a bunker, with as many troops as can fire out inside.
Set up a pair of AA guns towards the back of the bridge, behind the tanks, and one just back from the middle, along with fortifications where riflemen will be stationed. |

Alright then. Put them with the rest of the recruits as reserves. Have a few experienced riflemen/machine gunner volunteers start drilling them.
Now, we wait. |

| Bring the plane back, and call in an airstrike, aimed specifically at the tank and MEC. |

Several of the tanks get hit, however amazingly the MEC raises it's fist and a small shield forms on it's arms. The shield seeminly absorbs the main part of the bombing.
