@agent and finn i can believe you in not being scared, but the pattern with games like slender and amnesia makes me a bit more doubtful. |

Slender isn't scary either though seriously, I've played it (in the dark and everything)
AND IT WAS TERRIBLE the jump scares are just terrible which is what the whole game is made of

@finn i can agree with slender, to be honest. it was mostly just cheap scares, and the gameplay isnt even fun. five nights at freddy's i havent played, but the character designs and clips ive seen seem scary enough to me. we could just have different tastes in the sp00kz. |

the only thing that makes me jump in that game is the jump scares if they catch me unexpectally but if i expect it they dont do anything it's just the suspence that something is about to get you i suppose |

Jumpscares are only scary at the moment it happens, and the first time around.
two bits that have genuinley creeped me out on a replay of a game, was the crashed airplane in "Echos" and the souls of the dammned in "Red sqaure", both in Metro last light. Both of them just disturbed me, even when i knew it was coming the second time around. |

| what you find scary is objective, most people aren't afraid of mushrooms, I am, most people aren't afraid of the greasles in deus ex, I am, most people are afraid of spiders, I am not. |

Slender isn't that scary Sure I jumped back the first time I played it and lost, but I never felt a sense of REAL horror. I never felt seriously in danger, just waiting to see something genuinely scary kill me in the blink of an eye. Even if you DO see Slenderman, you still have plenty of time to run away. There's no feeling of danger for you when you're playing. It's like playing any other game where you're up against a tough enemy and you have weak or no weapons. |

the best horror movies are the ones where you don't see what's happening because then 1: There's no hyperrealistic CGI blood 2: you don't know who/what the killer or whatever the hell is |

@Mikey
that can also be true with games, and this is the prime reason why horror franchises shouldn't exist, you've seen the killer.
like resident evil,
you've seen the monster 7 times now... |
