Sublime text. Optionally, you can use a text editor I think. Sublime text is better though, but you have to pay for it. |

| Technically, it's not free. You can download it for an unlimited "trial", where it asks you to enter a license key each time. There's no restricted features in the trial. |

| You two must be on something. I've never been asked for a product key -- ever -- and I never bought it. |

You ostensibly don't use Sublime Text enough.
Every once in a while, it will ask you to purchase when you go to save the file. |

"Sublime text is better though, but you have to pay for it." "Every once in a while, it will ask you to purchase when you go to save the file."
Sometimes, it just prints a message to pay for it when you save a file, you don't "have to" pay. And this message isn't that annoying by the way. |

I know you don't 'Have to' pay when it comes up.
It IS annoying, if you code as much as my friend does. He says it gets on his nerves. He likes the program, however, and bought it anyways. |

@Jarod: Well, I've enabled a property to save my files when I lose focus on Sublime Text, so sometimes I don't notice its pop-up. Also, it is possible to code a simple bot to close that window once it appears. So no need to pay after all.
@OP: On wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavefront_.obj_file) you can find how .obj files are written. If you mean import a model from blender to roblox, you could write your own obj parser. I guess some people already did this if you don't know how to.
And by the way, I find it quite interesting... If you want to import an obj model on roblox, you'd have to create a part for each polygon of your model. But what if you combine this with roblox's new Solid thingy feature? You'd be able to make your own models with all the power of a real 3D model software, import them on roblox and transform them into one "solid part". The thing is, their feature is limited to 2500 parts... I wonder if something like this would work though. |

| It is still good courtesy to buy it. I mean, they ARE nice enough to give you it unrestricted and free. |
