like what makes an rp be able to call itself successful in a way? the amount of pages? the amount of people who join? if it reaches a conclusion?
im sure people had a conversation about this before but im just really confused and im curious to hear you guys's thoughts |

There was a guide that was released before.
Over 15k posts: EVERYBODY JOINS THIS IS THE HIP-HOP THING OF THE YEAR
5k posts: meh 2 joiners and a guy pointing out one spelling error |

Man, thats a difficult question. I guess thinking that a totally completed RP with a satisfying ending and whatnot could be considered successful in the eyes of the people who completed it. |

A role-player that completes a role-play; a role-play that completes a role-player.
That is a successful RP.
(sorry, listening to dramatic Town of Salem music, couldn't help myself) |

Well, I don't have much experience, but from what I know a successful thread is one that doesn't die and has a good twist.
So I was watching "The Matrix" on a plane today, and you can guess what happened when I started screaming "FLY NEO FLY!" |

sequels
lots and lots of sequels
also
spinoffs
lots of those too
basically an active series that refuses to die
and i don't mean that in the annoying way either
i mean
it has ardent fans
good plot
excellent lore

the amount of people who join? if it reaches a conclusion?
Those two. If it gets a decent amount of joiners and lasts long enough to actually conclude I consider it successful. I'd prefer a 50-100 page RP with a definite and satisfying conclusion then a 500+ page RP that just continues to drag on and on, merely kept alive because people refuse to let it die.

gosh spinoffs, well i was thinking of doing a season two of showtime but im not sure if i have enough ideas for that
but i could always give the pass the rp "series away"
and yeah mage i do plan on bringing showtime! a good conclusion and i just hope i get far enough to pick out a singular winner. not sure on how many pages i'll get but it'll probably take more than 20 lol. i just hope i could get enough people to stick with the rp until it's definite end, which is harder than it would seem |

I've only made like, 3 or 4 RPs.
Only 1 started, and it was SANIC FREEJOIN RPEE.
Just make sure you make it interesting, so you can have people join, and it doesn't die off to trollers, or it just grows plain boring.

Oh, you mean Spirit of Envy?
I'll think about it. I've been working on another Avatar RP with Hwen, with much more information and lore. Because it's about four different nations with four different bending arts that exist on the other side of the Avatar world. |

| I kind of think a successful RP is one that lasts pretty long, has lots of lore (such as maps, weapons, nations, etc.) that is very in-depth and detailed, and also people who make other RP's based off of that one's plot. (those people can still be to original op) |

What makes a successful roleplay? Well did you have fun making it? Did you smile wading through your imagination as you created it? The joy of purely writing something for others to enjoy is what I'd call successful. It's not about the post counts or the joiners it's about the essence of fun that is maintained in the roleplay.
That, dear Picka, is a successful roleplay.
Life is a sandbox; you're slowly putting the crystal pieces together in a storm of imagination. |
