Like the title says, I'm looking for an ideal way to have money with each character. Since leaderboards usually get exploited when it comes to any sort of value, I was wondering if having it as a value inside game -> players -> individual player, would help stop that. My idea for this would be to make a custom leaderboard, and you click on someones name to view their cash, kos, etc (like in apocalypse rising).
I was wondering if there are better ways to have an all-around cash system, instead of putting a number value inside each player. Thanks |

| No matter what you can't get around the exploit problem, if you use a custom leaderboard they can still change it. |

| If that's the case, then what would be the most organized and neat way? |

Don't store the player's money on their client and don't let any scripts from their client change the value.
That, plus standard sanity checks (don't let the player's money increase by more than X at a time), is all you can do against exploiting (and SHOULD be enough if Roblox has done its job correctly). |

| I protect my stats by parenting any sort of values to ServerStorage, and make calls from the client to the server with remote functions. Any sort of stat management is done by the server, and never by the client. I haven't had a problem with it to this date. |

Maybe don't use leaderstats, but another value slot (idk if that works?) called something like "leadersstats"

You could do what some flash games do. Have two leaderboards, one which holds the actual money values, and one which displays them. Then, have the true money leaderboard actually hold letters, and the display leaderboard decodes the letters into their numerical value.
This isn't impossible to exploit, but I doubt many people will try letters. |
