this is kinda straying away from the subject, but what is it like being a software developer?
i've learned web designing and developing, and i'm now learning more object-oriented languages like Java
i just want to know what it's like doing it for a profession. |

I don't believe you're a developer. |

@WhenPigsFly123
I work for a company that creates microscopes (I won't give name, sorry) and sells them to companies like Intel. These microscopes can see into a micro chip (not just surface, look literally INSIDE of a microchip) and look for damage/fracture/etc.
Anyways, I get up everyday at 8, drive there at 9, and work for about 2 hours a day(I sit there for 8 in total, the other 6 hours is me on 9gag and roblox), and in these 2 hours, I get done about 10% of my given task (every month, you are given a task, you can do w/e you want, just as long as you complete it, you're fine)
(if you work fast, you will get a raise, if you take your time and slack off, but you still get your work done, you won't get a raise, you will just get more hours, which means more money).
Anyways, I like it a lot, free coffee, restaurant food, etc.
If you're interested in becoming a programmer, I highly suggest it.

@WhenPigsFly123
The languages I write in is C++, C#, and Powershell.
I didn't know c++ or powershell, I learned it all there on the job. ( I am fluent in C# so that's why they even bothered with me).
Anyways, you don't need to be super smart to be an average software developer. If you can make basic connections and be able to quickly learn other languages, you should be fine. |

@ediee
unfortunately there's not a lot of software development companies in my area (deep south, still basically in the 90s in some places)
but i'll be glad to go maybe 100 miles in any direction to at least get some experience working as a legitimate software developer instead of sitting here making pointless programs |

Wow, that sounds awesome! How'd you land a sweet job like that!?
Also, I am very greedy. Could I have some virtual money, too? That'd be cool. |
