Hey everyone. This is going to be a long post.
For those of you who are unacquanted with me, I am Unclear. I am also thepwnageone and Estceque. Over the course of my time on ROBLOX since 2011, RAT has been the single clan that I have continuously come back to with the intent of staying and rebuilding. This time, rather than aiming to work as a high ranking official as usual, I wish to become Grand Admiral.
I am no stranger to RAT. Perhaps the two longest periods of me serving in RAT were between late 2011 and late 2012 under ColourTheory, and the first three quarters of 2013 under cj10127. Under ColourTheory, I served as Head of the Honors Division, a sixth-degree Immortal, Sparrow Corp Supervisor, and Admiral. I enjoyed dabbling in a variety of fields at the time; but as I have always done, I focused primarily on training and technological development. Under cj10127, I did the same, but with far more of a training focus. I served as a Progression Marshal at the time, but effectively served as the Head of the Department when Progression was faced with extremely difficult circumstances. Along with sami246 and fireandicebattle, I rebuilt the department to the best of my ability, and regained the trust of my fellow high command. My titles in the era included Exalted Honors Member, Immortals Manager, Sparrow Corp Agent, and Marshal.
I realize that, with the exception of evidence of past experience with RAT, these titles are of no use.
Fundamentally, I am a person who aims to improve others and their clan experience. This drive is what had pushed me to pursue a variety of training-related positions in a plethora of clans. It is also what influenced me to tackle learning both building and scripting; I had begun mastering both skills for the sake of greatly improving my versatility in this field. Like my peers in the training field, I have dreams for better and more enjoyable facilities. Unlike some of them, I can attempt to make them into reality on ROBLOX.
My development career has recently taken off, but it started in RAT. The moment I joined RAT, I worked with the aim of becoming the best builder I could possibly become to aid Sparrow Corp; given the circumstances and times, the ideal introductory occupation to aim for was a gun model developer. Thus, I began my career by attending classes managed by then-esteemed RAT gun model developer, Raven98. I created many fond memories working extremely hard by myself and with my colleagues; these were the foundation for lasting relationships between me and some of my closest friends from RAT on this game, notably MoolegoTheCow, meto02, and bobafett215. With the right amount of perseverance, work, and luck, I gained admission into Sparrow Corp as a builder in November of 2011.
Only a few months later during the cold winter of that very same year, I was approached by ColourTheory, who asked me if I was able to take on the 7G project. He required a knowledgeable scripter and it was a daunting task. I knew that the project had been delayed for quite some time and had experienced difficulty during development, but wanting to aid RAT, I decided to take on the project despite not knowing how to script. It was this dedication and drive that pushed me to learn elementary RBX.Lua for the sake of being able to contribute to the project, and I was able to work with rulzalot and xSIXx to ultimately complete 7G. The days I spent on the project were fast paced and lively, and quickly I became proficient enough to really call myself a scripter. In the very end, not only was I graced with a new-found ability, but I was also able to help pull the clan out of a period of stagnant tech development.
My training career, on the other hand, started in WIJ, which was my first war clan. It all began during the month of March of 2011. I climbed the ranks up to Colonel through training others and advising aspiring trainers. With the aid of my partner and fellow Instructor, drako72, I helped set up and maintain the WIJ Shocktrooper Academy under the careful supervision of SilentSwords and owen0202, which - at the time - served as the method of entrance into WIJ Shocktroopers. Having learned many great things, yet yearning for more experience, I parted from WIJ and joined RAT under the recommendation of then-Admiral cj10127.
As I had mentioned before, I aspired to become a developer to supplement my training prowess. In the winter of 2011, I had noticed that the facilities RAT boasted were surprisingly outdated compared to that of WIJ; having recently gained new skills and filled with a desire to aid RAT in the training field, I created General Training; RAT’s first holographic training center. However, it was obvious that mere facilities were not enough; manpower was required, but not always present. True to my personality in WIJ, I took matters into my own hands and constantly held as many trainings as possible with the intent of educating rather than drilling; I am a strong believer of the importance of learning before practicing.
When I came back to RAT during the spring of 2013, I returned with the intent of dispelling the idea that I was merely a developer and instead focused far more on the training aspect by getting directly involved with the department that governed training at the time; this department was dubbed Progression. Although it was one of the four overarching departments that governed the group, it was effectively dying; its overseeing Great Admiral had resigned and two out of three Progression Admiral slots were empty. The sole Progression Admiral, fireandicebattle, was overwhelmed with the responsibility that the current situation called for. Despite the difficulty of the new Knowledge Point / Strength Point system that was implemented under cj10127’s era, I managed to earn the rank of Supervisor and was ready to take my first step into direct involvement. In no time, I gained the rank of Progression Marshal under fireandicebattle and worked swiftly to implement the changes necessary to lead the clan in the right direction.
The institution I established was the Progression Consulate. Effectively, it worked as an emergency self-running entity, and with swift reforms that I created, the Consulate was able to rebuild the department and restore RAT trainings despite the seemingly hopeless situation we were in as a clan. As the creator of the Consulate, I split the department into Instructional Theory, Field Instruction, and Progression Internship. Instructional Theory worked to create and enforce the rules and regulations of training. Effectively, they provided training legislature. Progression Internship revived member interest in the department by making it possible for discouraged Supervisors to take responsibility and volunteer to aid the Progression Department, as well as possibly earn a position past internship. This rekindled both interest and loyalty to the department, giving Progression a far brighter future than it began with. Field Instruction served as the main workforce of the Consulate, and officers worked as a team to host a variety of excellent quality trainings and oversee internship examinations. Although it was an enormous amount of work and there were a plethora of complications, together with the assistance of Progression Marshal sami246 and Progression Admiral fireandicebattle, I was ultimately able to revive the dying department and bring it back to a state of stability.
This year, again, I returned to RAT, albeit with a more ulterior motive; to eventually own RAT and restore it. As members of the public, you deserve to know what had elapsed in the past three months. The group Pentagram, created by yours truly, was partially established for that very purpose; it was spawned out of my own frustration against how the situation was being handled by the RAT high command. I personally wanted to address it, but found no way of doing so rapidly enough, and so resorted to this roundabout method. Having been eventually found out, I nevertheless attempted again and again to provide assistance to - at the very least - Sparrow Corp. Even so, I tormented the developers by telling them they needed to improve their own abilities for the sake of the clan, and they were extremely pressured by the enormous amount of responsibility those words put upon them.
Regardless, despite these developments, I return to assist RAT. This time, it shall not be in a roundabout way.
Beginning with the issues that must be resolved immediately, these past two eras were, for the most part, ridden with a combination of dislike, distrust, and decline. cj10127 and meto02 were not at fault during their eras; they were faced with situations that they themselves could not fulfill, yet felt the obligation - knowingly or unknowingly - that they alone should bear that burden. In particular, both experienced a particular struggle in the field of clan technology; namely, they both were unable to push the 8G project to a fulfilling conclusion.
Under my leadership, I offer RAT the entirety of my development skill. Many developers withhold their true potential when working for someone else; I am no exception. This is not a practice that happens entirely on purpose. It is merely an aspect of inherent selfishness. Yet it is this weakness that can be turned into a formidable strength; when driven by your own desire and depending on your own ability, you can produce to the fullest extent of your capabilities.
With this fully in mind, I offer to take on the task of finishing what was meant to be finished, and more. Of course, I am a single man and the assistance of other developers native to the group and interested in it would be much appreciated, but know that as my own contractor, I will be able to bring to RAT the very tier of technology you would expect from me.
I know that new technology is not enough to revive a clan. However, it is a step in the right direction; with technology you can easily attract new members and skilled officers from outside of your clan. It builds the foundation for a strong pool of officer candidates to select from, which is central to ensuring the longevity of a clan. In addition, it solves one of the two most daunting issues that RAT has faced for quite some time now: technology and internal affairs.
Addressing internal affairs, ultimately I plan to restore a variant of the high command department system that operated under cj10127. Theoretically, it was a sound design. In actuality, it fell primarily because the Great Admirals who were appointed to aid cj10127 in governing clan affairs were not granted the power to do so, ultimately feeling powerless and subsequently resigned one after another.
This revised variant will split the clan into the four departments that once governed it: Internal Affairs, External Affairs, Warfare, and Progression. Each department will be headed by a single Great Admiral, directly appointed by the Grand Admiral at will. Subsequently, Admirals and Marshals will be assigned to aid the Great Admiral with department duties. Admirals are recommended by the Great Admirals to the Grand Admiral for approval; likewise, Marshals are recommended by Admirals to the appropriate Great Admiral for approval. This variant does not stray far from the original, but there are two major changes I will stress, upon implementation.
First, unlike the original system, the number of Admirals and Marshals per department will not be static. The departments are not created with equality in mind; naturally, some tasks may prove to require more manpower than others. In the past, a static number was assigned to each department per rank to add more rigidity to the structure; in practice, the high command was filled with idle officials and empty positions with no suitable candidate. As such, Admirals and Marshals will be appointed in accordance to necessity.
Second, officials will be explicitly required to actively participate in their positions, and show constant evidence of such. For the sake of efficiency and public image, it is of the utmost importance for officials to be unquestionably fulfilling their duties.
Just as the structure of the main group is important, the branches are as well. For a long time, RAT has had an excess of various divisions and the likes; it split up the high command and regular members by deviating their focus from the main group far too often. To minimize the amount of distraction, I propose that the following groups be the only official RAT divisions: The ROBLOX Assault Team, Sparrow Corp, Flight of Liberation, and the Frostarian Council. However, considering the current situation RAT is in, the Officer Reserves Core will remain as a temporary holder of all potential officer candidates until stability is restored to the group and the high command.
To end this, I would like to address the issue that is Arke. I will begin by reminding the public that Arke is not a conventional war clan; it is nearly a complete hybrid of community and clan. The governing style of Arke varies significantly from the typical war clan, and will in fact be of far lower maintenance. Fundamentally, I may hold the title of leader, but my most important obligation is to contribute as a developer as well as set up the clan. Past the release of Arke, at the very least I am obligated to conduct regular maintenance. Regardless of this, I have no intention of carrying the entirety of the responsibility that is RAT on my own shoulders simply because Arke can afford it; just as a wise leader would, I will appropriately select a dedicated high command in RAT that will distribute the workload as evenly as possible in order to avoid having to take on a task impossible for any one single man.
I shall not abandon Arke for RAT; although it may sound outrageous, I intend - with full confidence - to govern both at the same time and to govern them properly. Both clans will be elevated to the same technological standard, and I aim to raise RAT’s public image to that of a clan of inspiration, just as I have attempted with Arke. Despite this, they will remain two separate entities with two different agendas, and neither will interfere with the other. I say with full confidence that I have the time, energy, and willpower to take on the revival of RAT.
Aeternam honorem ad Frostaria!
