Riku, the downfall of The Future is Yours to Command was basically techspamming, everybody recovering at lightspeeds, and then just everybody getting upset with eachother.
If possible, you could perhaps make (or borrow) some sort of point system that uses math to decide the tech-upgrading and stuff. It would make it less of an RP and more of a game, but I dunno. |

That is a good point. Which is why technological development/acquisition will be a lot harder/more controlled in the reboot. However, I will keep your point system in mind.

If you mean a person who will control everything without actually taking part in the RP itself, then yes. If that's not what you mean, then please define.

Have a research skill.
If you have 100 in the skill you can make new tech in 10 pages
90 is 15
80 is 20
70 is 25
60 is 30
Etc
Stops people from easily tech spamming. |

Problem is that's incredibly long. You have to do it post by post and be selective if you want a really good nation RP.
With that said, I think I might join something like that, dependent on who joins or doesn't join. |

you could borrow Europa Universalis 4's tech system basically there's three sets of points administrative, diplomatic, and military get a certain amount of points per month based on the current state of your nation (ruler, advisors, various events, etc) there's a certain number of points required to adopt/research a certain tech if you get too far ahead of everyone else (basically higher in tech) then you start having penalties, further along you are the more difficult it being to research that tech it also goes the other way; if you're further behind in tech it will be easier to research because the neighboring nations are ahead so you can borrow techniques from them and stuff which ultimately makes it cost less points to research |
