| I was going to Build Some levels from the game Doom, but I have no idea how and where to find the files. My original plan was to use a decal and build it off of that, but that didn't end well for me. So who has a suggestion for something like doom 1's e1m1 level "Hangar" because that I would enjoy. |

| Try finding a picture of the hangar and reference it every once in a while. Or you could look up a video showcasing the hangar :P |

| I tried that, but my problem is that it's not true 3d, it used Mode-7 so it could simulate 3D visuals on a lower end computer (Window's '95 was one example) So I have no idea how to scale the different floors (The walkways had weird stair paths.) |

| Search 'Images from the game doom' on the web. |

my few times playing DooM have one thing to say about that. The corridors are too narrow to find anything useful. I was hoping to find a side view image so i know what to work on with the walls and leveling for stairs.
also: like I said before, the game has very dated graphics, since it was mode 7. half the screen was also comprised of your character sprite, and the other half was monsters (since most players like playing hardest difficulty) Making the screen eligible. |

You can probably find the maps as some sort of object file, or I'm not sure it's possible, but you could open them in a map editor.
Also, here's some advice for if you do find out how to get the maps: I've been building some Counter-Strike maps lately, and I've found the easiest way to go is to lay the bare foundation first. The paths. Don't worry about texturing, details, or anything else. Go for the floor plan first, then you can advance to walls, then important details, then the little intricacies. |

| I have the project file (most iD software games are stored in a WAD file) however, from my google searching, no one has an Object file for it. no 3d models for reference, nada. |

| On this note, I might as well make it original maps. since all you do is mow down hordes of enemies. |
