| if the monarch is only a figurehead, then why bother wasting taxpayer money supporting them? |

The most perfect government is a Tyrannical one.
Because it only has to be seen or approved of through one individuals eyes. |

Eh.
More in fan of the US government.
The Monarchs in constitutional government don't really do anything and are just a waste of money.
If you're going to spend money, it has to ATLEAST do something important.
I think all modern super-powers of course need a lead figure-head for leadership, parliament/congress can't do so. |

If you remove the useless king/queen of the monarch then it would be a good government ;)

we don't need a massive military, who wants to invade Canada
besides, most Canadians fight in the US military because its higher pay and they get to travel to more places then Canadian waters and the middle east |

There are really only 2 governments in the world.
Oligarchy - Ruled by a small group of powerful people Republic - ruled by law;constitution;federal enforcement
Reason why the others aren't really permanent forms of government:
Dictatorship: Although in history you see people such as in WW2 claim dictatorship, but they didn't get that power all by themselves, they got their own party or group of people to get them to that position, and sit as their cabinet, while the dictator is more of a lead figure.
Democracy: PURE democracy, as in democracy rules everything, that means that the majority of people who support something, can over-turn any laws, do anything, enforce anything if the majority supports it, PURE democracy has been tried in ancient greece, and it rather doesn't last long due to instability and then anarchy to another government.
Anarchy: Anarchy is the most short-term government, anarchy is used to disband a government and put on another one, what happens in-between is never permanent. |
