ok
if you post on this sub-topic then you are an ot'er.
it's not some kind of special achievement or an award you are given.
you post dumb stuff about your cat and pop tarts and then you are an ot'er.
so stop feeling over superior above everyone because you post on a forum.

it's like an imaginary title made by kids who are self-centered.
it's like the term "brony" or "furry"

@Krazy
>Otaku
this proves my point. just because you like anime you feel the need to title your self "Otaku", but nearly everyone watches cartoons so that makes them Otakus as well. but they generally don't care. |

you're not proving anything Just because I named myself "KrazyOtaku" i'm not claiming to be superior than people who rarely watch anime. |

| "OT'er" was never meant to be used as a term to feel "superior". It was always used to describe someone that posted on the off topic forum. The misusage can easily be compared to someone saying for example, "I'm a musician, therefore I am better." |

it's a title that you are giving your self.
the same thing applies with people who make "OT'er lists" or something stupid like that.
EVERYONE who posts on OT is an OT'er. no-one is creator then the other.
because it's not hard to post on a couple of forums.
but I don't see why you have to give your self titles.

You're misusing the term OTer most people title themselves (or title other people) OTers if they post a lot lets say, 5k YET you're saying that people who title themselves as OTers, are acting superior than someone else. It's nothing to get rustled about. |

| Based on your reasoning, I don't see why people should call themselves engineers, scientists, bus drivers, artists, artisans, merchants, ceo's, students, musicians, chefs, etc etc etc etc.... |

it's just annoying because some people feel left out.
especially the people who make alts just to make lists of "ot'ers" or something.
yet they never include the ot'ers who were here LONG before anyone else. (not necessarily talking about myself)
Anyone remember general discussions?

An OTer is defined as someone who forums here regularly. If someone posts here once in a month just by mistake, they are not an OTer. If they are from another forum but sometimes end up posting in a thread here, they aren't an OTer. It's something you can be more confident in about yourself over time. After one day of posting here, you really don't feel like an OTer. But after you've been here for a month or so, you will begin to feel that the title is suitable. |
