*THIS IS WIP, NO JUDGING HOMIE* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RACES: Dwarves: The dwarves make excellent smiths and very knowledgeable teachers. Their creativity with the forged matched with their wit has led them to create amazing weaponry and architecture. There are three types of dwarves:
-The Frost Dwarves are a very rare type of dwarf, living isolated far in the north where it's cold. They were once a large prosperous race.. however their society started to decay during the war with the Dark Kin dwarves, the war lasted for many years.. The frost dwarves started to incorporate necromancy as a method of turning the tides of battle, raising the Dark kin to fight for the Frost Kin. Their original purpose for researching necromancy, was to learn how to "resurrect" the dead, and live immortally.. just as they were about to achieve their goal, the "Dark kin war" started, where the frost kin were almost wiped out by the genocide. Few did escape however, and now populate colder areas in the northern seas of Asgarnia.
-The Gwyn Dwarves: Named after their forefather "Harbinger Gwyn of the North" these dwarves are strong, valiant, courageous, loyal and devout in their faith. They started building great cities within the mountains of the north eastern continent of Dul'mok. "Dolomon in Human language" There, they practice their miracles of light, trying to grow close to Esquire Emmortal, and grow their society more and more every day. They live around the south of Asgarnia.
-The Dark Kin Dwarves: Not much is known of the Dark kin, except they used to care only for death and destruction, like the ancient Frost Dwarves.. the dark kin started to incorporate necromancy during the "Dark Kin" wars.. however their lack of devotion and overall intelligence led their necromancy to be highly ineffective, they prefer using their enchanted flaming weapons to deal with their enemies. After the "Dark Kin" wars, most of the Dark Kin, even though they won, contracted a mass plague from an unkown source just years after. Only few have been seen since, but the recent Dark Kin dwarves are more tempered and accepting.
Humans: The Human is an extremely common race in Asgarnia,, some noble, some soldiers, some peasants. They are over all rounded, not possessing any mastery of one thing or any special powers, but a “jack of all trades.” The Asgarnian Humans are different than normal humans, though. They have adapted to the long winters of Asgarnia, so they are naturally well-equipped for the winter. They have also learned a lot from their dwarven brethren, so they are naturally are better at smithing and sailing. They also have a keen sense for farming, and have persevered through Asgarnia’s long winters to bring the best tasting grapes for wine brewing. Their skin tones are very light compared to other humans, so they often get burnt easier in the sun.
Elves: The elves of Asgarnia are few, but most are very talented and noble. They serve as great warriors, masters of the arcane arts, and influential politicians. They have a common immortality for all races of the elf. There are 4 main types of Elves:
-Half Elves: Half Elves are elves who have bred with humans, and thus have lost and gained some things that came along with the mix. They have lost their immortality, but they have better trust with the dwarves, since they are part human. These Half Elves are very in touch with emotions, which they can manipulate to create amazing stories and performances.
-Dark Elves: The Dark Elves are very in touch with the arcane arts, mainly in fire and conjuration magics. They are great at manipulating their talent for magic on the battle field. They have darker skin, so they are better in the sun, but they also adapted to the harsh winters of Asgarnia. They make very good teachers, whether they teach writing or magic.
-Wood Elves: The wood elves are uncommon in Asgarnia, since they are more used to their warm, wooded landscape. There elves are incredibly in touch with their senses, which makes them excellent hunters and great bowman. They are usually of lower wealth in Asgarnia, but an important part of it's infrastructure because they are Asgarnia's best hunters.
-High Elves: High Elves are usually snobbish, so they do not really tend to live in Asgarnia, which they see as a land of ice and peasants. They are incredible politicians, and make very good mages. They despise dwarves, though.
Orcs: The Orcs of Asgarnia are not as rare as elves, but they are still uncommon. These brutes take fighting to the next level, as they can charge into battle, striking down opponents with ease. Team them up with dwarven smithing, and you have yourself one of the best fighting machines out there. Occasionally, though choose not the path of the warrior, but of the bard, or writer, or even politician! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CALENDAR
Goes in Ages, Hence “First Age of Asgarnia, Second Age of Asgarnia.” Each Age lasts 8 weeks. Each week is a “month”. The months: 1. “Snowfall” The first month in the calendar, to begin when snow first starts to fall 2. “Schneeregen” The second month in the calendar, this is when snow starts becoming more frequent, and layers of snow start forming. 3. “Schneesturm” The third month in the calendar, usually the biggest blizzards and snowstorms. 4. “Hagel” The fourth month in the calendar, the blizzards lighten up, and ice and hail begin to form. 5. “Gefrieren” The fifth month in the calendar, this is when the ice freezes just about everything, and is devastating for farmers. This is also the over-all coldest month for Asgarnia. Some say, when there is enough vapor in the air, the wind can even freeze. 6. “Thoag’s Day” The sixth month in the calendar, this is when a rapid change in temperature comes, and a sort of “summer” ensues, when plants blossom rapidly. 7. “Gwyn’s Day” The seventh month in the calendar, this is the hottest month for Asgarnia, a usually a time of celebration. 8. “Herbst” The eighth month in the calendar, this is when it starts to cool down and the plants usually go back into their “hibernation state.”
The Calendar begins on 8/3/2014 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- III. RELIGION
oh, this one is a biggie
THE GODS: Esquire Emmortal: The chief deity and the galaxy's creator, who used his breath to create these lands, blowing the universal tides together to create a new realm. Esquire Emmortal appointed minor gods to govern the lands and keep order as he slept. They created and governed the first kingdoms of humanoids for many centuries. Esquire now watches over Asgarnia and will guide them to excellence. He is usually called upon in times of judgment. He holds absolute power over everything and can change the way things are heading in an instant. He knows all, and controls all.
Omirates: The god of Courage, Honor, Chivalry, Valor, Army, and Kingdom. Omirates was first created by Esquire Emmortal to help the first humans establish their villages, cities, and kingdoms. He is inherently good and may help you in battle when you call upon his name. Asgarnia, before they head into battle, calls unto Omirates for safeguard of the Asgarnian soldiers and that they might prevail victorious.
Varos: The god of War, Ambition, He is one of the three sons of Esquire Emmortal, and the most powerful of the three. His symbols are the Moon, The Sword, and The Wyvern.
Arris Emmortal: The Goddess of Love, Home, and Time. She is the wife to Esquire Emmortal. She guides all of [ENTER REALM NAME HERE] and guides the land. At the beginning of time, she did not get to create a race. Instead, she governed and allowed the merge between Elf and Human. This is the only known hybrid of the four main races. Her symbols are a Heart, a Hearth, and a Clock.
Gheost: The god of Death, Darkness, and Fire. He one of the three sons of Esquire Emmortal. He and his minions capture the souls that Esquire Emmortal deems unfit for Heathra and curse them to Spryza. His symbols are the Skull, The Flame, and a Full Moon. This is why imps are more active during a full moon.
Zudoku: The god of betrayal, deciet, cunning, lies, scandals, and air creatures. Zudoku is the more of an anti-god. At the beginning of time, when each god created a race, Zudoku was incharge of making sure the races maintained peace. Because this was a job so large, Zudoku never got to create his own race. He was infuriated at Esquire Emmortal, so he abandoned his task, created the Aedric, who were the demons that wiped out the old kingdoms during [THIS TIME AND THIS EVENT FOR THE REALM]. This is why there is war across the land now. He has no symbols but the Vulture. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kingdoms who follow this lore: The Kingdom of Asgarnia |
