Chapter 1- United States Army Uniform Types and Purposes
Formal Types and Purposes:
Service Uniforms: This uniform will function as both a garrison uniform and a dress uniform. These formals can be worn for non-ceremonial functions. (ONLY WEAR THE UNIFORM IF APPROVED BY A OFFICER ABOVE THE RANK OF LIEUTENANT GENERAL)
Mess Uniforms: Formal evening dress worn in the mess or at other formal occasions.
Army Combat Uniforms: The Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is the utility uniform worn in garrison and in combat zones by the U.S. Army. (YOU'RE TO BE IN THESE STANDARD UNIFORMS UNLESS ORDERED TO WEAR FORMALS FROM A LIEUTENANT GENERAL). A rank tab needs to be present while wearing these standard uniforms, if you don't have one on you're out of regulations.
Chapter 2- United States Navy Uniform Types and Purposes
Service Dress Blues: Service dress uniforms are worn for official functions not rising to the level of full or dinner dress. Also worn when traveling in official capacity, or when reporting to a command. They are seasonal only wear during the winter. Service Dress Blue may be worn year round for travel ONLY. (ONLY WEAR FORMALS ONCE APPROVED FROM A VICE ADMIRAL)
Service Dress White: These are worn during the summer, they resemble the same purposes of the Dress Blues aside from the seasons.
Full Dress Whites: Full Dress uniforms are worn for ceremonies such as changes of command, retirements, commissioning's and decommissioning's, funerals, weddings, or when otherwise relevant.
Mess Dress (Dinner Dress): Worn during ceremonial events such as a change of command.
Service Khakis: Service Khaki uniform today is the main uniform of commissioned officers in grades O-1 through O-10, and grades E-7 through E-9. (CAN BE WORN YEAR AROUND IF APPROVED BY A VICE ADMIRAL)
Tropical Whites (Short Sleeve): Can be worn during the summer, you have a choice of these or the Dress Whites.
Naval Working Uniforms: These are worn at sea and in industrial environments ashore and must include collar tabs. (Standard Uniforms)
Chapter 3: United States Air Force Uniform Types and Purposes
Service Dress Uniforms: Formals that can be worn year around for non-ceremonial purposes once approved by a Lieutenant General.
Mess Dress: This Mess dress uniform is worn to formal or semi-formal occasions such as Dinings-in, Dinings-out, weddings and other formal functions where civilian "black tie" would be ordered.
Utility Uniform (ABU): USAF ground personnel and flight personnel not engaged in flight operations wear the Airman Battle Uniform (ABU).
Chapter 4: United States Marine Corps Uniform Types and Purposes
Dress Blues: Basic Formals used for non-ceremonial occasions, can be worn once approved by a Major General. (Includes four Types)
Blue Whites: Summer dress uniform for all officers, NCOs and junior enlisted personnel for ceremonies and social events only, if approved by the correct chain of command.
MCCUU: Wear in the field or for working parties, the typical working uniform for all deployed and most garrison Marines. (Standard Uniform)
Hat Regulations: These are the only hats allowed to be worn on-duty (With the approval of female hair being that you're a female)
Trecky Hair Drill Instructor Hat (Army and Marine Corps) Shades (Officers)
ANY OTHER HAT THAT IS PRESENT IS ILLEGAL AND IS NOT TO BE WORN

Evening Dress: Worn for occasions such as State functions, inaugural receptions and dinners, and formal dinners.
