"Where you can be every class in one playthrough?"
where you can destroy large groups of enemies with heavy armor and weapons, but then sneak past another group of enemies as a thief
so yes, basically |

"well playing the game twice but with different classes is boring imo"
in games where it doesn't make that much of a difference(*cough* skyrim), it does tend to get boring
but with games where it's an entirely different gameplay style with each different class/skillset, then i wouldn't call it boring... |

Dark souls is diff in that aspect some heavy weapons require you to put a certain amount of souls into strength most likely a very high number to use that weapon effectivly else you'll just swing it like a little kid and same goes to the Dexterity for Rapiers ETC aswell with knowledge and faith
A person with a high Dex may use Bows or fast weapons frequently, A person with High strength may have a problem with migrating to a dex build as it takes more souls to level up each time you level up |

a good example of a game with replay value would be dark souls
as hot said, you can have different play styles depending on what you spend your souls on
i.e you can be slow moving tank that has the ability to block most attacks and absorb tons of damage while moving up close to the enemy, or you can be a fragile but fast moving spell caster who likes to attack from afar
also, the only time you'll be able to play two separate ways in a single playthrough is if you GRIND GRIND GRIND for souls, and that would take ages if you did that |

@chee
there's this thing called fastrolling caster havel which completely kills that
it's basically using the heaviest, higher defense armor in the game while being faster then sonic the hedgehog and casting high damaging spells
it's why people stop leveling at 150 in order to create a metagame
unfortunately since the change in 'matchmaking' in Dark Souls 2 there is no reason to stay at level 150 anymore so you're free to have a master of all trades |

Considering they fixed the grinding in Dark souls 2 where ememys only perm disappear after they die 15 times
If you go through all your soul vessels and in a pretty high level then its going to take you so long to change your build in the slightest |

i dont quite consider being able to do that with one character in a multiplayer game period acceptable
you only have to go NG+ or so to do it and it's still the same character |

| Morrowind made it really hard to level up stuff that you didn't put as your main skills, but Oblivion and Skyrim you could easily level up everything. |

skyrim allows this in one 'playthrough' because if you make a new game you get a new character
dark souls however allows you to restart on a higher difficulty with better rewards with the same character and losing no important items |
