Lord, in America I played Defensive End, Offensive tackle, defensive tackle, punter, kicker, middle line backer
(not all at once)
Now in this new country, I might be playing full back, middle line backer or defensive end
and high chances of punter
Good players/leaders listen to everyone, they take advice, take knowledge from all and apply it to their own lives,
Bad leaders think they are always right and never listen :) |

I played as a corner for 4 years, lots of open field tackling. I went to championship 3 times.
For open field tackles I've been too to aim for their legs but whenever I do that they always end up kicking my arms and helmet
So I just aim for the low part of their hips and wrap my hands around

Should I stick my head in the tackle aswell?
When I tackle I go for the head and upper body
, forearm into the gut, face mask right under theirs, shoulder into their chest
Would that work?

i don't really play defense but i can give you some tips
if it's someone bigger than you that you're trying to tackle go for the legs
never hesitate, think about running through the person rather than just hitting them and stopping
watch the other persons hips to find out their route
make sure you're low enough the guy that's low enough usually gets the tackle |

Lord, wouldn't low hits be illegal?
"Punters are not to be hit below the knees during a punt"

| Naw m8 you want your arms to be around their waist @ your body should be low to the ground, and have the side of your helmet against the same side that you're leaning into. |

caboose, but wouldn't you want to inflict pain?
Inside of wrapping your arms into 'em, (I hurt my shoulder joints by wrapping up)
why can I throw a fist or forearm/elbow into their family jewels or guts? |

@lord
Only if you're an overpowered muscular lineman
In open field tackles you don't want to do helmet to helmet hits |

Yeah, cab is kinda right
I did head to head ONLY
And my left eye went cross eyed, (it popped back 5 plays later)
or u could get a head concuss
SO I'm guessing this:
Open field : wrap up
When in traffic (near line): do my technique
and when doing open field, aim properly and go low if they cut good, then go a little higher |

@jake
I just remembered a technique I learned two years ago
If you bring one arm into their gut, then wrap your other arm around his waste and have your helmet on the other side of the side that's not being wrapped around by your arm
It's a bit hard to explain but I can't really show you in real life... |

caboose, but if you are moving your arm to wrap around with one hand in, they could grab and do a spin move,
I'll try it out, I got practice soon anyways |

Let me see if I can give am online example lol
Scenario:
You have your right arm wrapped around his waist
What you would need to do is take your left elbow, and press against your opponents right hip really hard.
At the same time, put your head up against his right hip bone and squeeze the hell out of him while tackling him at the same time
He will have pressure coming from both sides, and pressure coming from his front from your body
So he will easily stumble back and become a weak target |
