No, this doesn't mean you have to buy seperate shoes. There are already pants with that. In real life, people wear a long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve above it. I think it'd be pretty cool to be able to express more creativity.
I will ignore your "No Support" if you don't give an ACTUAL reason. (as in just typing no support) I also won't reply to trolls. So yeah, I'm talking about your earlier posts marinefifty.
Just because you say, "This isn't real life, this is a video game. That's why it shouldn't be added." Stop there, that's your opinion.
-Pros- Allows us to express more creativity. Adds more quality to Robloxian's abilities to customize. More potential to customize a lot of looks.
-Cons- Absolutely nothing, besides changing the engine, or making it 0.01
And no, it won't force you to wear two items, either will it look hideous, it is just how they make it. And there won't be a TL;DR version. Ever. And if this thread seems terrible, I made it at 4:33 AM on 7/18/2014. |

ROBLOX clothes are handled by the instances Shirt and Pants. They simply fetch the ID and add it to your character when you join a game. With this update, it'd require a whole reworking of the instances. Would there be multiple instances, one changed instance, how would it tell where and what the clothes go? would there be a gap? wouldn't the images interfere if they were joined together (test this by putting 2 decals on the same side of a brick), would the whole ROBLOX imaging engine need to be reworked??
Too much work for a barely beneficial update.

@builderman
Will you please realize that such a small update shouldn't have such large initiation and have little return and may break old features? |

| You can't physically move clothes/decals at the moment, the current instance just finds the parts in a model for a character and applies it like a texture to a hat. That would mean all clothes would have to become bricks or some wacky new thing is added just to support such a small update. |

| Simple baby talk: You cannot move decals' position. Making that possible would be very hard. |

| You can make layer bricks. Small tiny flat bricks. And it would cause lag to those who have a laggy computers, but not intentionally. |

and how would the bricks move and follow your character? welds? anchoring? joints? Unnecessary bricks, will break tons of things, just not going to happen. also, clothes are not seperate decals, they are textures that only fold on certain surfaces, so all clothes would have to be changed.
Please, just realize this idea has too much initiation for such a small change.
The cons outweigh the pros.
By the way, this is a clothing template: http://www.roblox.com/Blue-and-Black-Motorcycle-Shirt-item?id=144076357 |

From old post by spacegang
"How would the engine know which pant/shirt would be on top?"
By making it a feature, yes?
"It would require multiple subsections to the catalog."
No, it wouldn't. There could be a tab that says, "Shirt 1", and, "Shirt 2".
"Say I want to wear my bandage on my leg, AND have my jeans on. I want to have my bandage on top, but to the game it just reads it as the jeans on top."
Refer to what I just said, "Shirt 1", and, "Shirt 2".
"Can't you make a shirt that looks like two shirts if you have BC?"
This is a feature, not a workaround.
"No support. The reason is that many shirts and pants wouldn't work well with this."
How would you know?
"How are you going to buy it if you can't afford it in the first place."
The world doesn't revolve around you.
"Textures would glitch out. In studio, put two identical bricks, same dimensions, different colors, in the same exact place. Theres your preview!"
we're not taking two bricks and putting them together.
we're taking two decals and putting them together in one brick. [the torso.]
"this = lag"
More textures does mean more lag, but you shouldn't over-exaggerate about it.
Sure, an optimization update could mean it would work for 50 players, so maybe in a future update, they could add it.

Sounds great, Right? But there is a problem with this idea; The clothes are rendered almost like Decals, And when you place decals on top of each-other, You can either get the part-inside-a-part rendering glitch, Or its just covered over at close range. ROBLOX would have to rework clothes entirely to do this, And that isn't something the ROBLOX devs would want to work on right now. What they want to work on is Making more money, And making the game worse for everyone.
