| Anyone got any other suggestions besides the two listed? Excluding dragons though, they are over used. |

My two favorite Fantasy/Mythical creatures.
The Phoenix representing eternal life, the Gryphon representing royalty and pride.
That's a hard one, really.
The Phoenix was said to raise from it's ashes upon death, as it would burst into flames when it died. Therefore, making it immortal.
The Gryphon was said to be the ruler of all mythical beasts, as it was a mixture of a lion, ruler of land beasts, and the eagle, ruler of sky beasts. For the Gryphon to look at every mythical creature and say "I'm your ruler", means that there is certainly something there worth mentioning. |

@Laserbeak89, I forgot to mention they must be able to fly.
@Leodin, That was an amazing description of both of the creatures, making it even harder for me to decide as well.
Here is a little context for this vote, I am making a showcase place and I wanted to include a flying mythical beast of some sort and it is hard to decide between the two.
Suggestions of other flying beasts are welcomed, no matter the size of said creature. |

Eh, it's barely scratching the surface of the mythology around the two creatures.
My favorite things to study are Mythology, Folklore and European History; which I usually utilize in my Roleplays. |
