You do know that a majority of people live hundreds of feet above sea level, and would you rather have the ocean ice cold or rising?
Plus, we don't live in the stone ages. If it gets to a point where the oceans are flooding the Mid West, it's highly likely something would have been done to handle it |

"And, if the water level rises, where will the people go? Billions of people will be displaced because of flooding."
dude, the global government is corrupt enough to not care about the people. melting ALL the ice won't flood the earth into an Oceania. there already is a few secret bases on planets in our solar system they don't want us to know about, the population over there is rising as well. |

Nitro, I didn't say it would. Still, lots of people would be displaced on the low-lying land.
And, no they don't have secret bases... For one, people can't get over there, its way out of our life span, and two, it takes a long time for probes and things to get over there, and way beyond our technology to actually have something build there with tools that somehow got over there? Considering the fact most of the probes there are behind our tech since they are from years back |

1. there is no event proven to end the world soon enough that demands us to build a starship. 2. if we and the government invest into technology, space research and building a starship, then we can build it in a lesser time along with inventing an interstellar drive that allows us to travel space faster. 3. a secret above light-speed experiment was successful a few years ago, no, you will not hear about it. 4. mars is the most habitable planet closest to earth, the soil of mars is capable of allowing certain plants to grow, which absorbs radiation, takes in foreign gases and lets out oxygen into Mar's atmosphere. the ice on the top of mars melts underground into water, allowing roots to feed off of water. |

I'm a fan of astronomy as well, so don't expect I don't have educated opinions.
First off, even if a light-speed ship managed to be created, It would have to be a child sent to Mars, since it's still too far. (This may not be true, I'm blanking on how far Mars is...)
And, part of Mars atmosphere (Which is a contributing factor as to why Mars doesn't have life) had "floated" away. I don't think with the technology we have now we'll be able to bring life to Mars. Though, maybe in future years there may be "ecosystem" things that can help with bringing life with concentrated chemicals.
And, if it's top secret, how do you know? |

| So, then, if I can simply look at that, why wouldn't I be able to know? |

| usually, when something BIG, and i mean when a HUGE secret is leaked, they are quickly deleted along with examples of it. you can only get a glimpse of it once, unfortunately. |
