| The day of reclaiming Odesa arrives and your troops are prepared to go to the Rally point. First you must make a decision. Who shall accompany them and lead them and oversee the OP? You can go yourself, or choose one of your officers to lead. You could send LT Colonel Sawicki or even ask him to select another officer for you. If you'd like him to select for you feel, if not, you can ask him to recommend a few for you to pick from and provide you profiles on their strengths, weaknesses, and personalities. |

| (Note that means you going onto the field with them to oversee the OP. More dangerous, but more exciting. If you die- it is permadeath. Fair warning. Do you still wish to lead them?) |

What vehicle do you want to take the commander seat in? One of the strykers or a tank?
(Last question post before the OP begins I promise. =P) |

Strykers will be fine.
(i feel so out of my league, talking military terms. i'm used to commanding troops, not talking to high general princes) |

(I feel many other people feel that way too. Once half of the other applicants saw the troop assessment, they never responded again XD)
You mount the commander seat of a Stryker and proceed on your way to the rally point with your mechanized unit. Upon arrival you notice the different between the UK task forces and the Ukrainian troops immediately. The UK's troops are maintaining perfect formation and showing strict discipline whereas the Ukrainians's form appears a bit sloppy- and then seem a bit more lax in terms of strictness, but a lot more nervous than the UK soldiers as well. The most nervousness could be seen in the Ukrainian force that was facing east- who was to proceed into the city once the airfield was taken- before the UK troops had caught up.
The UK task commander greeted you upon arrival. "Welcome to the war Colonel. I expected you to send a commander in your place, I did not expect to see you taking the front lines. I'm sure your soldiers would agree that its certainly a morale boost to have the higher ups with us today. So, are you about ready to begin the OP? We're going to get the word to proceed any moment now." He said, glancing to the Ukrainian forces. "Not sure how ready they are though." He said, gesturing to them. |

(at least i understood the troop assessment, but that's going to be a pain to command, or maybe not. idk)
"I think we're ready. I think they need a good batch of chocolate ice cream for their nerves. Of course, I'm not blaming them, would be nervous if I was actually seeing real action." |

(Oh boy. That was the EARLY troop assessment. Good luck dealing with after congressional approval.)
"Well I don't think we have any ice cream men here in this are of our good old war-torn Ukraine. So they'll have to suck it up I suppose." The UK task commander said with a grin before going to rejoin his forces.
After a few minutes the signal to proceed with the OP was received and the UK and Ukrainian force to be detached to take the airfield marched off. A few minutes passed and you could hear gunfire and some explosions in the distance. After about six minutes, it was still going on.
"Why are they still fighting over there? There was supposed to be minimal resistance at the airfield." A Ukrainian soldier said. The Ukrainian commander then sent a questioning raido message to find out.
The commander approached you, "They said you're clear to go- should take five minutes to get there and it'll be clear by the time you get there. They said there was unexpected air and armor resistance- and that they have something they want to tell you in person when you get there."
Are you ready to proceed? |

Your unit rolls on towards the airfield and upon arrival is greeted by a silence, a lack of gunfire. It looks as if they really did finish clearing it out just in time for your arrival.
Then a helicopter previously hidden behind the large air traffic control tower and the airport building itself comes spinning out of control, skidding along the top of the building and flipping downwards- smashing into the ground at the edge of the first runway.- Now it's clear.
You are greeted by the UK task force commander again. "Alright before we let you take over we wanted to update you. We ran into a large amount of unexpected armor- and air resistance especially. We don't know where they got all of this armor. It's old cold-war era Soviet technology, so it could be stolen from the Ukrainian military, but they don't report having any air vehicles stolen since the initial Russian incursion into Crimea. We have Ukrainian operators in every anti-air turret on the airfield and manning all captured vehicles so you should be good here. I best be off, the fight in the city is going to begin any minute. Need anything before I go?" |

| "The immediate area of the airfield yes plus that which our scouts could see from the top of the air control tower. It's clear from what we could tell, but this OP is already full of surprises." He said, looking over towards the helicopter that crashed upon your arrival. |

"Right. I'll get them to clear the building. God, if this goes badly..." I say.
Can you give me a better description of the airport? I've got 54 men, and I need to do a big sweep. Would I have any dogs or anything to detect bombs? |

| "No worries." The task force commander said. "I personally took care of clearing the actual airport building with my men. It's all clear in there you have my word. "Airport security, police force armed with sidearms, is on your side and they agreed to help guard the building so you can leave the interior to them if you'd like even. If you'd like to organize a defensive perimeter the Ukrainian commander in charge of the operators we're leaving with you should be in the ATC waiting for you." |

| (You'll basically get a layout of the airfield, the current troop placements of Ukrainian operators, and be able to place your troops in cohesion and request the Ukrainians move their troops as well if you'd like.) |

(Apologies I have been ignoring your thread a bit. You're the furthest ahead and I can't just copy&paste things for you, and college stuff makes it a bit hard to keep up with typing a bunch.)
You proceed to the air traffic control tower and meet with the Ukrainian commander in charge of the Operators. "Greetings, I heard you were coming." He said, looking out onto the airfield. "We found some light armored vehicles that I currently have patrolling the area around the airfield as well as some anti-air vehicles which I have placed along the airfield and around the airport. Also found two military tanks here which I currently have patrolling the area surrounding the airport." He said. "Where were you thinking you'd put your troops?" |

(Hm. I'll try my best to describe it in words.)
There's a large runway on the western end of the Airport, and a smaller runway next to it just slightly east. East of that is the loading area which is surrounded by most of the buildings of the airport- with a parking lot just to the north.
If you go south down the large and small runways, there's a couple buildings just in between them halfway down. Then it just goes down a bit more and ends. The surrounding area of the airfield are all plains. To the west lies a train-station, to the east lies the suburbs of Odesa. |

| So you'd like your tanks to patrol those perimeters? Split half and half? And would you like to throw the APCs in with them as well? |

(Just trying to get specifics before time starts rolling by so I don't make any mistakes.)
Would you like to keep the loaded infantry in the Strykers? Or would you like to put them somewhere else? |
