This will be a short series of logs on the Sector 13 story. In-universe story.

Credit to cashpop for helping me with the story.

Greetings reader,

I write in hopes that you may come across this information one day regarding the tragedy of Sector 13. The whole incident was covered up. People were sworn into secrecy, videos and files taken away, mothers and fathers not getting a response from their inquiries as to where their surviving sons and daughters were shipped off to, and new brain surgery equipment being installed in certain forts and outposts. Regardless of the cover-up by the WIJ High-Command, scars and memories still linger in our minds. Nothing can cure us of this dread that still constantly collides with our peaceful states.

Regretfully, I was part of the cover-up team, the fact that I was part of the biggest lie bothers me. Eventually it will be nothing as the doctors are here to help clean up our damaged psyches. Not sure what's worse, not remembering that I lied or remembering it and that I was a part of it. I have no choice in the matter. Now I will tell you of my story as part of the many clean-up squads that were deployed to Sector 13.

Sector 13 still exists today and is closely monitored by the Science: Biological Division of WIJ and [REDACTED]. 2 WIJ [REDACTED]orbit the outer sections of the planet, blocking off any hope of entry into the planet's atmosphere and
outer-space. A small research station was installed on the coordinates [REDACTED] N, [REDACTED] E, which is approximately 0.5 kilometers from the bunker entrance. There were still some survivors in the bunker during our first
entry. We were tasked with [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] any survivors we came across, and of course, taking out the 'Zombies' in the process. Yes, the Z word was the name many gave to the biological terrors.

Day two was to collect biological samples from the bio-forms we came across during the first day. We weren't given much to work with in terms of equipment and weaponry. Standard CQC equipment, SKP and T11 and a new [REDACTED]. The gas was still abundant throughout the bunker, and all we were given were respirators Class-IV, built for just a few hours of operation. Which was a problem, as the base's automated computer manager was still running on clockwork, we often got into puzzles and mazes while trying to maneuver the bunker. Not that we could do much, as we didn't have the security level to access the terminal.

Day three, nothing happened. Regular sampling routine.

Day four, nothing happened. Regular sampling routine.

Day five, nothing notable happened. A cadaver fell on top of one of our squad mates, injured him slightly but nothing serious. He was temporarily spooked.

Day six, one of our squad members was briefly exposed to [REDACTED] gas. We quickly put his respirator back on and kept our guns pointed on him. He didn't turn or anything but he wasn't normal. His vitals were okay, and he was capable of tracking movement and responding to certain stimuli.

We took him back to the medical facility and had the Chief Medical-Officer check on him. Still rather skeptical about his state, we stayed in the room for the sake of not having another sector 13 incident. He was dragged off by some ST's into a holding room. We were told to leave.

Day seven, still no word of my squad member who was injured. Fate is still unknown

Day eight, we got word that there is no chance of recovery and that he was to be taken to the Space-Station [REDACTED] in Sector [REDACTED] for further examination. He is being examined by the [REDACTED] division of the WIJ: Science Department. He was officially pronounced dead and his family was informed about their loss. The official cause of death was starvation. Military funeral with full honors was given.
