So it plays 3DS games but without the 3D mode?
What's the point of that?
I got a 3DS because it plays the game in 3D, a 2DS seems like you're just getting less though.

@Poni Your post is stupid and illogical. @Cat I have no idea if it has 3D or not, since I don't have the 3DS. I don't want it anyways.

I have a 2DS and a 3DS
3DS hinges are prone to breaking, which is why 2DS has no hinges 3D feature can be considered irritating I find the 2DS more comfortable to hold 2DS appears to have a longer battery life A lot cheaper |

The 3ds has a slider on it's side on top to make it 2d or 3d
I see no point that the 2ds had to be made |

It's for people who don't want to spend as much on a console. I mean it's £79.99 last time I checked, new.
Anyway, great for people who can't see the 3D thingy very well. |

@Da, less likely to break. Better screen, too be honest. Doesn't scratch as easily.
Cheaper by a lot. |

i always thought the 2DS was made because parents were complaining about their toddlers breaking the screens off the normal DS no hinges, less likely to get snapped in half |

I had a 2DS on day 1, hour 1, minute 1.
I played it for only 2 hours over the course of 7 months.

I keep my 3D feature off because it makes the thing die faster.
Or so I think it does.
3DS XL is very nice.

2DS is for people who are looking for a cheaper device really. That's all I can guess it'd be for. No 3D is reasonable, I'm sure most people who own a 3DS (like myself) rather not having the 3D on for reasons.
Only problem with 2DS is that it barely fits in your pocket unless you have shorts with those big pockets on the end. |

| The purpose for the 2DS was so that little kids (Under tha age of 7) could play the games for the 3DS without the 3D. There is in fact, in the manual, a statement that says children under the age of 7 should not use the 3D functionality. Also, if you aren't careful, like a toddler, the screen can come off. That's what the 2DS is for. |

| So the 2DS looks more like a bigger traditional Gameboy? I'm sort of confused about it too. I get not having the 3D aspect, but I sort of don't get why it doesn't open and close like the regular DS/3DS |

| It's a cheaper version of the 3ds without the 3d for people who wouldn't use it anyway. Seems like a good idea. |

| The original idea was stated in my previous post, but that is also another reason why people bought it. |
