Live a life that I am happy and content in. Ralph Waldo Emerson describes the sort of successful life that I would like to live rather well.
"To laugh often and much to win the respect of intelligent people and affection if children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child a garden patch or redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
Of course I don't want to fill my life with materialistic pleasures, I want some meaning. I want to make the world brighter, and I want to be proud of what I have accomplished. I don't care about wealth or women (yes, I am straight) or fame. That is not success. To live a good life, an honorable life. That's what I aim for. After all, none of those things (lust, greed, gluttony, etc...) really matter in the end.
