(Hopefully I didn't miss something drastic. I probably did, though.)

(My first attempt at a role-play in a very, very long time. plis no haet)


(This role-play may be considered 'gross' by some people. Please be wary.)


Such a large, large ship generally never approaches the colonies of Jupiter Dos (Or, more precisely, the colonies on the surrounding moons), but when they do, they generally mean trouble.

Most of the trading frigates are small nowadays, at least compared to the behemoth sizes of military ships. Those are meant to strike fear into enemies of the Human race. (not like there are any besides the damned pirates that attack the aforementioned trading frigates)

In any case, the massive colonizing/scouting ship with a predicted thousands of personal on board obviously had no official business with the united colonies. The moons had already been scouted, and any other hospitable planets had long since been ruled out. The gravity was bad enough for people living where they were.

In but a few collective Galactic Days, A large militia force was sent to the ship. It hadn't attempted to send any sort of signal back home, and they weren't sure that there was even a working crew, although biological sensors did pick up a large amount of life forms, most of them-non human. A rumor went around for the longest time that the ship would deliver cows or something to the colonies, and they would be able to eat something other than their accursed aquaponic-grown fish.

When the 'Screaming Eagle' forced open the loading bay of the ship, the ships internal AI sent back one, final message over a bianary frequency. After that, all electrical tracking signals on the 'Eagle' were fried by some unknown force on the colonizer.

The signal read but one, haunting word, one that was relayed through the Empire. That one, single word was on headlines for months, until, finally, the crew of the 'Eagle' was pronounced dead by some unknown force and the colonizer was decimated by a few volleys from a long-ranged Planck Frequency Decimator.

The nearby colonies were shielded for some time by artificial means, to keep the radiation from effecting civilians, before the council finally decided it was safe and ordered all military away from the scene. The crew of the 'Eagle' was mourned and work was returned.

Not too long after that, A large pirate haven in an asteroid belt surrounding the United Colonies was busted by an elite military crew. Most of the pirates surrendered immediately, claiming that an odd sickness had killed nearly all of their men. When the ships landed, they were horrified to find these claims to not be a trap, but to be utterly true: Dead and rotting bodies filled the corridors, most too weak or unwilling to dispose of them. Some of the pirates were killed out of mercy on sight, and the strongest ones were taken to a nearby refueling and communications station to later be transported away.

The prisoners did not survive long. By the time the three ships had arrived, half of the prisoners were dead, with some of the crew complaining about weakness as well. Everyone onboard was quarantined in the prison bay, with a select few medical professionals allowed to enter the area.

Symptoms were almost un-noticeable at first, but within a week or so of contracting the virus, they became fatal almost instantly. Medical staff reported that those infected would change "...Overnight, their screams echoing through the prison. Most complained that they felt as though their innards were melting... Those who die begin to decompose, exposed skin and muscle melting away almost immediately, even in a sterile environment."

The medical reports began to get more and more grisly, until sometime two days ago, Epsilon Station 12 was cut off from the universal communication network. They have not attempted to reconnect since.

OVERVIEW:

Not an ISRP, those are difficult to control and I want to experiment with this.

Once again, this is my first RP in a while, it might be a bit choppy.

All RP will take place on Epsilon Station 12 (except for a bit of backstory on the arriving shuttle)

All RPers will take the role of a 'death squad' sent to discover why Epsilon Station 12 has stopped communications. They are armed heavily (hence the name) and ready to kill any hostiles.

This does take place a few hundred years from present times. Expect Sci-fi weapons and sci-fi setting. It is also recommended you do not reference something from present-day in your RP.

Expect some horror elements.

THIS IS ORIGINAL CONTENT, THIS IS NOT BASED OFF OF ANY OTHER FORM OF MEDIA.

(a couple books and movies did inspire a lot in this roleplay, however.)

Standard RP rules apply.

AMMENDUM: all players that join late (as in, they are not in a death-squad) will be made into survivors on the station. You will not be armed. If you join late, you can just make a paragraph describing yourself (or, if for some reason, you want to begin as a survivor.)

AMMENDUM 2: I now realize that the possibilities for weapons are endless, so let's consider this: Ballistics are still openly used for infantry, laser/heat based weapons are expensive and require cooling periods between firing, and you would probably not be armed with something such as a flamethrower on a simple recon mission.

OVERVIEW OF DEATHSQUAD

The Deathsquad is NOT recognized to exist by the Human Empire, and therefore, you should keep as covert as possible. Do not kill civilians unless it is absolutely necessary to keep them quiet.

Sapient alien life has not yet been formally acknowledged to exist. However, The United Human Empire has proven their existence through different scans of far-off planets. Any alien life is to be treated with caution. If any form of hostility is shown, immediate execution and disposal of remains is recommended.

YOU ARE HERE TO STOP A CONFLICT FROM STARTING, OR TO CLEAN UP AFTERWARD. IF armed personnel from another faction under our empire are discovered, it is recommended that you capture/execute them to remove possibility of discovery. Your weapons far outclass theirs.

The powersuit is possibly the most expensive item you have on you. It cannot be forcefully removed from your body, and will attempt to recessitate you if you fall in battle. If, after three attempts, you cannot be roused, it will give an audible warning before self-destructing, destroying your body and the suit. The suit is connected to it's own internal network with all deathsquad members in your team. It will openly communicate with them, and, if you are a medical squad member, will alert you of wounded members.

The suit responds to both verbal and mental commands. If, for some reason you are unable to speak, the suit will work with limited function. The suit is connected to your body in three ways, all of which are done surgically. The suit will remove itself from your body if given the command, and if the command is confirmed a moment later. It will only obey the commands of the wearer and will ignore anyone else, even other Deathsquad members. There are two ports for injections so that medical personnel may heal you.

Only the engineering suit is spaceworthy. Your suit will protect you from pressure loss, but not extreme cold. If you are not wearing the engineering suit and you are thrown into a vacuum, you WILL die. Engineering suits are specially made for such a thing.

Your powersuit does require recharging. There are two ways to do this: Remove the top panel of the suit from your left arm (it should pop of if you give it the command.) and attach included wire to power source (battery, generator, ect.) and wait until energy siphon is finished. Alternatively, remove the suit (not recommended due to privacy reasons) and set it into charging mode near an open window. It will collect sunlight as energy. Return suit to body once it is charged.

All Deathsquad officers are given a vial full of a powerful biological solvent that acts as a glue that can be stuck and unstuck from different materials by loss of heat. The glue is multi-purposed. Due to it's unique factor, it can be used as a restraint for live prisoners (as the heat they put off will remove their ability to escape.) or barricading doors. Apply the cryo-pack on the side of the vial to surface to cause the glue to loosen. Not recommended in the vacuum of space.

Your suit is immune to power siphoning and electronic pulses of most kinds. This has the interesting side-effect of making you immune to police electrode weapons. As well, if all power is lost, your suit will be able to survive and keep you alive internally unless all air pressure is lost. Your ship carries similar technology.

You will be debriefed on your mission prior to landing. Attempt to land at the designated area. If this is not possible, your squad engineer(s) may be able to break through a wall for you to enter. AFTER ENTERING, YOU WILL LOSE CONTACT WITH YOUR COMMANDING OFFICER AS A SAFEGUARD TO TRACKING SYSTEMS. ANY QUESTIONS MUST BE ASKED THEN!


CALLSIGN= What you are called over comms. Deathsquad members are not given the names of their colleagues, to keep battle fatigue and remorse from setting in in the case of a casualty.

CLASS= Medic, Engineer, Footsoldier. Medics have special medical supplies, Engineering suits are heavy and made to be space-resistant, and Footsoliders are the best armed.

WEAPON= See ammendum 2. All Engineers carry a RCD (rapid construction device) to build and destroy walls, Medical staff has a combat stimulant injector, and all deathsquad members are given a Mark II Emergency Defensive Taser that fires out a pronged dart that violently shocks whoever it hits. Expect to have a primary and secondary weapon, but remember to say where they are put.

OOC= Anything special you deem to put here. No, I didn't put a stupid 'lel put cow if u red' in the reading, but you need to read that anyways.

There is no Biography or anything of that sort because you need to know as little about your fellow officers as possible.

Everyone is wearing a black powersuit with red trim, Medical staff have a green trim and the Engineering suit has a yellow trim and is heavier. Appearance, therefore, is not required unless you take off your suit.

(Note that nobody will know who is a man, woman, or otherwise unless you take off your suit, as you all have a voice scrambler. Automation is still in beta, so be wary if you want to be an android, and have a good reason.)

(On topic, What's a good number for the squad? I was thinking 6, it's non-prime and you can 'split up' into 3 groups of 2 or 2 groups of 3.)

(I got so paranoid of someone making a medic when in all honesty it's like 3 words required.)

CLASS: Medic

WEAPON: SMG that uses bullets, located at my hip, clipped on. Pistol with bullets also, slipped in a pocket on the left side of her chest. Plus that fancy shot thing, and a silly tazer.

OOC: I really didn't know what to put for guns. Is it apparent?

(From what I've done it, if you're in a lot of combat, probably something like four players with eight squad members, four being NPCs. If you're going solely players, six man squad sounds right.

Byron, that gun looks really heavy. Is it? Also, how does the dark-energy attachment work (I've never played half life no hate please.)

Everyone else is accepted, Ninja, pulse rifle is fine considering you are a gunner anyways.....

(The attachment is basically a bouncy grenade launcher; it fires a ball of energy that ricochets off walls and disintegrates human flesh. I can remove it, if you want.

Also, the gun's not that heavy; around the same weight as a modern assault rifle.)
