ex: The elder scrolls V: Skyrim GTA V
Nobody uses roman numerals anymore. It's not I+I=II, it's 1+1=2. So with that in mind, why the hell should you call your game Kill monsters II? It's not as if video games are fancy, valuable things. |

"It makes the game seem cool" IMO it doesn't Whenever i see a letter, i read it out loud as stated in my head. Gee-tee-ay-vee doesn't sound as proper as gee-tee-ay-five. I kind of just roll my eyes at the topic. |

| Actually, the Superbowl still uses roman numerals for counting each of their games every year (this year was Super Bowl XLVIII), what number the Pope is often still uses roman numerals (last pope was Pope Benedict XVI), and they're still used to show copyright dates on TV shows, movies, and videos. In comparison, their use in video games is pretty small. |

"is it because you're too stupid to distinguish them from regular numbers?"
Yes. I mean, no.
I think it's just stupid to call your game "Kill Monsters II" when roman numerals are dead. Some video game series even swap between normal numbers and numerals, leading to confusing titling. |

roman numerals are alive and well. i think they look the title look a bit more formal. they're pretty easy to understand. I is 1, II is 2, III is 3, IV is 4 - the I is subtracting a single number from V, which is 5 and so on. pretty easy to understand. |

@mario It is ugly to have "Dead space 2" and "Kill Monsters II". Games should have consistent titling. It's also easier to type a single number in when searching for a game. Look at final fantasy ffs. That's a mess. |

Video games aren't meant to be formal. You're shooting things. Yes, rtoman numerals are quite easy to understand, but it's much easier and nicer to stick to one system that we all use, regular numbers.
If you went up to someone and took a random roman numeral from a superbowl year, I'm sure they wouldn't be able to read it unless it was around 10 or under.

You know you just admitted that normal numbers are ugly, right? Anyway, it seems you just hate them because you are lazy. It is pretty ugly when they become "final fantasy XIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVVXXXXXXXXXXVVVVVVVVVVVVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYDSJBNDKJEBNKJSNBDHJKSBHJKF" i'll give you that. |

You guys are retards. Did you even read my replies?... My general opinion on the topic is: "I can read roman numerals, but I don't like them much. They're inconsistent and rarely used anymore." |
