Charter of Northumbria These laws are hereby set forth by the Nobility and Crown of Northumbria. It is to be carried out by all citizens, immigrants, inhabitants, and visitors of Northumbria. It shall be enforced by all Nobility, Armed Forces, and Law Enforcement. So speaks the King of Northumbria, protector of his people. The Queen will forever be heard in the land, and be the Supreme Justice of the Peace. We hold these laws in high standing, to ensure peace, justice and tranquility be among the Kingdom.
Section I A. The Queen is the Supreme Justice and Law in the Land. She may overrule the King in any matter, and she may not be overruled. B. Law Enforcement of Northumbria consists of the Park Service, Sheriffs' Department, The Nobles, and The Armed Forces. 1) The Park Service polices all Rural Areas, and when no Sheriff present, cities as well. The Park Service will consist of Rangers whom also will perform land management services, as well as public worker safety checks for the benefit of mines, railroads, roads, Etc. 2) The Sheriffs Department will consist of a Sheriff and Deputies, they will police Cities and Towns and perform public safety checks, on occasion in homes to ensure no contraband be inside. Contraband will simply be removed and a fine of 100 Shillings be placed upon those whom contain contraband. 3) The Nobles, Lord-Archduke, may see fit to arrest on occasion when no law enforcement be near. In the case of arrest by noble, the highest ranking noble, Prince, Princess, King or Queen will oversee trial. 4) The Armed Forces may only Police in Times of Martial Law, and will be the supreme law keeper in times of Martial Law. Only the King or Queen may enact Martial Law. C. Justices of the Peace will be all Nobility.
Section II The Laws of Northumbria and Suggested Punishments. A. Murder – Suspension from All Northumbrian Duties, and Temporary Exile from the Land. B. Attempted Murder – Fine of 2000 Shillings paid to the State. C. Stealing of Private Property – Seizure of Stolen Property, Fine of 1000 Shillings. D. Stealing of Public Property, or Government Property – Seizure, and fine of 10,000 Shillings. E. Breaking and Entering – Fine of 500 Shillings F. Destruction of Public Lands deemed by the Park Service – Punishment and Fine by the Park Service adjusted by the Extend of Damage to the Land > To be Tried by the King and or Queen. G. Treason – Punishment by King and Queen H. Disrespect of the Royal Family, Especially The Queen – Removal of any and all titles, orders, ranks, and positions. I. Seizure of Public Lands not Granted by the Kings (Overstretching your Boundaries or Claiming Land) – Seizure of Land Claimed, Original Borders Potentially Reduced. J. Proclaiming Self Royalty or Nobility, (Even if one in another Land) –Warning then Death and 20,000 Shilling Fine, Potential Jail Time. K. Trespassing on Privately Owned Land – Punished by Land Owner, or Authorities Contacted. L. Selling of Contraband or Untaxed Weaponry – 50,000 Shilling Fine
Section III Positions in Northumbria: ~Citizen – A person whom has chosen to Join Northumbria, and works for their keep, generally owning a home within a City, Town, or Village. ~Merchant – Those whom own a business within Northumbria. ~Criminal Charges – Those undergoing punishment, or being tried for crime. ~Esquire – Simply a title given to those by Royalty, an upper class citizen. ~Armed Forces – Those serving the Armed Forces ~Royal Guard – Armed Forces Member tasked with Guarding the King and Queen ~Medical Personnel – Those belonging to the Medical Profession. ~Royal Architect – Architects employed by the King (Land Claims Start Here) ~Lord – Leads a Department for the Crown, or a Village ~Baron – Leads a slightly Larger Village than that of a Lord. ~Count – Leads a Town ~Viscount – Leads a Larger Town than that of a Count ~Duke – Leads a City ~Archduke – Leads a City, generally one of the Largest ~Grand Duke – Generally a Member of the Royal Family, Leads a City.
Section IV Freedoms Guaranteed by this Charter, protected by the Crown. ~Freedom of Speech ~Freedom of the Press ~Freedom to Bare Arms ~Freedom from Unreasonable Search and Seizure ~Right to a Fair Trial ~Right to a Legal Duel to settle Civil Disputes out of Court (With express permission from the Queen, King, Prince, Princess or the King's Hand.)

Addition I
As the Queen is the Supreme Leader of Northumbria, the Queen may remove any King from power, at any moment in time. She will also appoint the new King's Hand, the King's Successor. ~Queen of Northumbria – Queen Marianna |
