Collaboration is difficult. Extremely difficult.
In fact, it's so difficult that development divisions have been running into collaboration issues ever since development divisions have been conceived.
Projects should ideally only be done by a pair of two people, max. Contributors of small assets, like little bits of artwork or maybe small models, do not count. I'm talking about the big players.
Adding on to that, clans can usually only take on one project at a time before they get sidetracked. If that is true, that means that there only really needs to be two members or so in a development division. At that point, it becomes useless to have one in the first place.
--
Anyhow, I was asked to leave Sparrow Corp and so I did, because I was admittedly too critical of the developers. I bear no grudges nor do I bear any prejudice against them; the major flaw is that members of Sparrow Corp lack the skill to fulfill this ideal pair-system that I mentioned above.
If they want to succeed, they must follow that system. More people bring in more complexity to the project, both developmentally and mentally. It becomes far more of a hassle, and the project becomes even more difficult to manage; managing one or two people is already quite a feat for the average population on ROBLOX.
But it's not just that. There's another core problem: people fall under the misconception that bigger is better; that if they manage to shock their audience by introducing a plethora of new features they'll somehow win over the user's loyalty.
Unfortunately, that's not worth doing even if it's potentially rewarding.
It takes far too long. Large projects should be split up into smaller chunks, and each of those chunks should be introduced separately with weeks in between introduction. This gives the development team a bit more time to relax and relieves an enormous amount of stress. In addition, it gives the development team time to actually debug and improve, which can become overwhelming if they are introducing many new features all at once. Not only that, but the users are happy; they get to see constant updates and no longer have to wait for the hype to deliver, if it does at all.
This isn't a rant against Sparrow Corp. It's more like some advice. If you own a clan or are a prominent leader in a clan who is somewhat involved with the technology side, I hope you learned at least something from reading this. |

@Textorial
I was there just to give advice like this.
Unfortunately it wasn't particularly appreciated because I am very harsh. |

From what I've seen this is very accurate
The best tech always comes from a duo, or at most, a very small group of people |

i know a lot about it considering i'm more of a veteran than almost everyone on this thread
i'm not beefing with unclear, he's chill, but i just call it how i see it. i don't blindly bandwagon. i have independent thoughts.
i even agree with what he's saying for the most part, but i have to disagree with this 100% of the time. it's the organizer's fault, mixed with stubborn ebr quality builders who all try to be better than one another. if you have low quality, starting out builders working together in a pbs, with one person kind of approving/declining designs, it could work well (i've done it before). it's when you try to make it look amazing ebr quality when it doesn't work, because styles clash and everyone wants to be the only one to take credit. good builders are petty, even if they don't show it.

@WallStreetWolf
The issue is this wasn't about builders.
Scripting is a whole different world. |

| Why don't you just run your own tech group, and get clans to hire your tech group, all profit is to who is in the project, as you said you and the person you are working with, it's a big robux income. |
