demon's souls is just an older works of theirs
they're not connected, only small differences are there.
but demon's souls is a whole lot easier. |

dark souls isn't really connected aside from vague similarities
but a character from demon's souls also appears in dark souls, so i'm not really sure how that works (though there's the whole factor of time being completely screwed up in the souls series world, so it'd be impossible to tell how close together the two games are in time or if they are even in the same world to begin with) |
