Welcome to the internet! If you've been here for awhile, you're bound to stumble across what some of us like to call "trolls." Some of these trolls can be clever and funny but some exist for the sole purpose of harassing every organism they can find on these parts of the worldwide web. Unfortunately, ROBLOX is not exempt from the scourge of trolls, and so, like all websites, it must adapt to them.

BLOCKING PLAYERS: Account
It really is unfortunate to have to turn off public private messages because of one guy who won't quit harassing you. Why have to isolate yourself from the rest of the ROBLOX community when you can choose specific players to block? You should have options for blocking specific players from joining your game, chatting with you, inviting you to a party, private messaging you, and sending trade requests to you. This system would be done by usernames. Simple as that! Under account you would input the username of the harasser and their name would be added to a list from which they can be removed from at any time. For conveniency sake, you should be able to block someone straight from their profile.

BANNING PLAYERS: Groups
Spammers can become a huge burden to groups with an open door to all players.
** Exiling a user from an open door group is literally more useless than deleting an individual post of theirs. **
That is why, just as there is a "join request" section, there should be a - you guessed it! - banned player section! Alongside the option to exile a user, administrators of a group should have the ability to *ban* a player permanently from the group. This will put them on the ban list, where they can be removed at any time by someone who has the ability to add or remove players to this list.

BANNING PLAYERS: Places
Now most of us know how to ban players from places, but for the sake of conveniency there should be support for taking action against unwanted guests straight from the configure section. Players banned from a certain place would be put under a list inside the place's settings. Under > Develop, players should be able to choose to ban a specific user from not just one place but all their places. Again, a list would be created of all players under this block. If a user has already been banned from a specific place and then from all places, later removing the player from the ban list of all places will not affect the ban list affective only to one place. Capisci?

If you are in support of any of these features, please leave a comment either to suggest an addition to this idea or, you know, just to bump this thread back to the top of the Suggestions & Ideas forum!

Sorry but not a good idea. People who scan would have the perfect opportunity to keep themselves safe from confrontation. Moderators brains would explode. Noobs would be sad.

Pretty good idea. But there are some pros and cons as well. I'd support; but blacklisted players should have the ability to REPORT the blacklister, in the case of the user of this feature 'committing' an offense.

Support.

I've seen websites where foul language is allowed, and websites with no speech at all, and both of these still have ignore or block features.

@Immortice

I'm sorry but I can't see how this would benefit scammers. Here's the thing with a scammer, sure, you can bother scammers about how annoyed you are that you fell for their ploy, I mean that's what I was scammed years ago, but what does it accomplish? They don't have to respond to your PMs. They only productive thing you can possibly do when you get scammed is report the private message as evidence of your scam and hope the moderators review it. Other than that, there is no need to continuously attack the scammers after the deed is done!

@Superdarkninja44 He did, whoever, say "people who scan" and I believe that he meant to say scam... maybe there's a new form of being a jerk on the internet that I'm unaware of, but I'm 99% sure he meant scammers, not "scanners." :P

This is a wonderful idea, but it needs ad-ons.

Ad-ons:

Account Blocking: It should be by the ID of the player rather than the username due to name change. However, this can be easily bypassed by people making alt accounts.

Banning players (Groups): This should also ban the player from entering group places and purchasing group. In addition, they should not be able to do anything with the group even if there are things users can do if they are not apart of it (Groups can give people who are not apart of the group commenting rights, shout outs, etc).

Banning players (Places): Exists for personal servers, but only for personal servers. Again, should be by the ID of the player. This can already be done though by admin scripts.

Full support and is absolutely necessary.

Thank your Jesus Christ a man finally posted this. I've been wanting ALL OF THESE for ages. I am an active Clan leader, and I am constantly harassed by certain individuals, I want specific people not in my groups while keeping them public, and I want to be able to EASILY remove certain people from my places. THANK YOU!

@supersy claiming this doesnt help scamming

this is so freaking stupid on many levels

this idea has been suggested many times and proven to support the foundation of scamming in fact, makes it worse.
