tbh I love reading just not for school It's basically have a small selection of books forced on you, then you have to read them, memorize the major events in chronological order, take notes on every chapter, write a page-long summary about each character, then when you actually get to school you take a big 5 page test just for ONE of them |

@mike
yep, and my HS tries to prepare every kid for college. By giving each kid college like homework for summer and right when the school year starts up. I herd junior year is the hardest year for some reason. |

I have to read three books (finished one so far), write an essay for every chapter in one of the books, write two essays, and learn 100 vocabulary words.
Respect the science! |

| I feel bad for you. At my HS, summer reading isn't mandatory. In middle school it was. But all we had to do was read 2 books, then write 2 paragraphs on each book about a selected topic on the sheet. We got to pick our books, too. |

@mikey
Just looks up summaries and such about characters online. I was also about to say BS everything, but I'm sure the books are selected for you guys and the teachers would know all about them. So, just look up summaries about the plot and the characters, then just summarize those. |

That sucks. My HS is all laid back about everything. You can basically do what you want without the teachers giving a damn unless it's something THAT bad. |

| I honestly don't see why schools force kids to do this kind of crap. Like how are they gonna have a summer vacation when you make them read 2 or 3 large books and follow it up with multiple essays and a quiz on the first week of school? |

Oh I got to pick my books too The descriptions sounded really cool but what they neglected to tell me was that one of the books I picked was written by a man who is famous for his self-help books I like the other one though but I'm having a hard time picking it up instead of going to play Dark Souls or something |

| If I were you, I'd just read a 39 Clues book and just don't include "The 39 Clues:" when recording the book so the teacher doesn't automatically rule it as a 5th grade book. I have been reading them since 5th grade and they were all good. You should read them since they're pretty cool. If you don't wanna read it, then BS everything about the characters and plot. |

I don't get to pick any book It's from a list of 4 books As far as I know I can't change my choice so now I'm stuck with a book that so far has talked about nothing except how much the main character wants to kill himself(aka the book written by the self-help guy) and a book about some people who grew up in really bad neighborhoods where most of their friends were drug dealers but the three became doctors(aka the one i kinda like) |

| I am reading Divergent. I have to answer 151 questions and my dad has been getting mad at me for not getting it done. So I will have to atleast answer a few questions tomorrow & read a bit. What annoys me the most is the 151 questions and having to explain each little detail in each chapter. Honestly I would just like it if my HS would just allow us to read the book for enjoyment and give us a 25 question quiz. |

| *The quiz will probably be 90 or 100 questions max. If I don't have my notes I fail for a month until the class comes around to a new book. I really don't like HS at all, not the place to be. Now college is different. There is mostly grown adults not annoying kids in the halls. |
