Camera Modes serve as a bonus assist to controling your vehicle. Different camera modes can have different effects on a vehicle and can present a player with advantages or disadvantages depending on the situation. When you're a VIP you get access to 6 different camera modes. Becoming VIP is easy and FREE, all you have to do is join the ROBLOX Derby group.
There are 7 different camera modes (Their hotkeys are in quotes after them):
•First Person [Ram] “x” •First Person [Driver] “z” •Attach “m” •Custom “n” •Track “b” •Follow “v” •Watch “c”
I'm going to go through each camera mode and gives so uses and possible disadvantages to them.
•First Person [Ram] First person [Ram] is more of an ornamental camera mode than anything else. It gives the player a view of the front bumper of their vehicle. Although the advantages aren't massive on this mode, it does give a nice feel and it was implemented to mimic other driving game's camera modes. The only real advantage it carrys is that it allows you to pin-point where you're about to hit your target. This camera uses aditional aspects of the “Follow” camera which I will talk more about later.
•First Person [Driver] Again, this camera mode is ornamental. It brings the player's view to the eye point of the player, mimicing what the driver exactly sees. Though it's fun, it doesn't really bare any advantage, rather it obstructs the player's view from the sides and behind which will leave you open to attack. It is a good camera mode for control though. This camera uses aditional aspects of the “Attach” camera which I will talk more about later.
•Attach Attach is a camera which prevents the player from manually turning their camera horizontally. They can only turn it vertically which allows the player to have a controlled over-head view of their vehicle. Attach mode is generally used for vehicles with poor control as the camera mode eliminates a large majority of drifting from the vehicle's chassis. The camera does prevent the player from looking from side to side, which means the vehicle must turn in the direction you want to see in.
•Custom Custom mode does not readjust to follow the vehicle or readjust automatically at all. Rather it is fully controlled by the player and will stay in a fixed point "tracking", or rather following the vehicle unless the camera is again moved by the player. The mode also gives a slightly higher view on the vehicle.
•Track Track is a camera type which is opposite to “Follow” (which I will talk about later). The camera does not rotate to follow the player from behind, rather that camera just follows the player and and looks at them from one direction. (This is hard to explain). Basically it's like someone is following your car and capturing your movements from that point while still following you. This mode allows players to chase vehicles that are infront of them more effectively.
•Follow Follow is the default camera mode of ROBLOX Derby 2 (Even non-VIPs have this mode). The camera will readjust when you turn in order to follow your vehicle from behind. The sharper the turn you make, the faster the camera will turn to be behind your vehicle again. It is a great camera mode for ease of control as no manual adjustments are needed. This is why it was chosen as the default camera mode.
•Watch Watch is an unusual camera mode. When you hit the hotkey for Watch, the camera will freeze at the point where you were when you hit the hotkey, and then it will just watch your vehicle from that point. This is a rather unused camera mode, but it gives the player a potentially huge field of view, but it may become hard to see the further off in the distance you drive.
So there is a quick run-down on the camera modes in ROBLOX Derby 2. I hope you find the guide helpful, and I will leave this thread open if you want to discuss it further or ask any questions. |

| If I can give a suggestion, there should be a spectate mode where you can sit on the bleachers on the sides of the arena and watch. |

| That's a possibility, but I was thinking more of a third person view spectate as a more viable option |
