Depends what sort of weld you are using? Scripting welds I have no idea what is going on xD. But welding with the bricks surfaces in ROBLOX Studio is the easiest solution.
How I would do it: 1. Build cart with all surfaces welded 2. Make it look nice without removing any vital welds (use your logical thinking brain) 3. Save it as a model 4. In... maybe Edit Mode place the cart onto the track.
To change brick surface: Either 1. Use one of the toolbars at the top of the Studio window. Or 2. Find the brick/part in 'Services->Workspace' in the Services sidebar. Open up the Properties sidebar with the brick/part in selection and scroll to the bottom and change the surface types to whatever you want. |

| You will obviously have to un-anchor all parts/bricks once the cart is built. |

You use a weld script like crazyman32's auto weld script. Build with anchored parts, group them and add the script. Run the script then save the welded model. Add wheels after welding.
The auto weld script will weld the parts , unanchor them then remove itself when finished.
Find it in freemodels. search 'crazyman32' or 'auto weld' |
