Hello everyone, and welcome to the start of another season with great potential to be one of the best in the league's history. The RHL has not had an 8-team postseason since Season 4, when the Roblox Blue Jackets swept the Roblox Lightning in the Season 4 RHL Cup Finals. That was over two and a half years ago. Now, with twelve teams of 10-15 players each, this season looks like it has a bunch of high-quality team owners and the activity is going to be high for all of them. We hope to see a slim amount (if not zero) of forfeits this season, because that takes away from the fun.
Throughout the season I will be posting power rankings based on how teams are performing. They aren't completely based on current standings, because a team's upcoming schedule, last few games, recent transactions, and more, all have an affect on the team's chance of making the postseason.
To begin the season, I'm going to be doing preseason predictions for what to look out for from each team and how I think each team will finish in their respective divisions. You will see a division name by the team, and then 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, which is the position I see them finishing in from that division. 1st and 2nd is good, because it means you would make the postseason, while 3rd is bad.
This is a special version, because I am not going to make a list from 1-12 based on how a team is currently doing. Instead, I will have a preview for every division, and then I will have the teams inside that with a preview for each of those teams. Along with that, I will predict the team's final position in their division and their final position in the league. 1st means that I predict the team to win the Presidents Trophy, while 11th and 12th is a prediction that means I think that team will be disbanded for next season.
Here we go...
=== SOUTH DIVISION === DIVISION PREVIEW: This division has a lot of talent, two teams with owners that have had the experience of winning the RHL Cup in the past. Romoism previously won the RHL Cup in Season 10 with the Dallas Riders, a team that made the postseason in their inaugural season (Season 9), but fell short, and then rebounded into a wonderful squad late in the season. They swept the Vancouver Dynamite in the RHL Cup Finals. CheeseyMacral is coming off a season with championship from San Antonio, a team that defeated the Ottawa Old-Schoolers in the RHL Cup Finals in six games. He also previously owned a team named the Portland Cyclones, just barely making the postseason in Season 10, but ended up being defeated by the Winnipeg Snow Tigers after causing a threat in the opening game of the season. Superfunnyhappyguy is the owner that flies under the radar here, however he has a few key moments in his career that happened just last season. In the middle of Season 11, Super took over the Quebec Aces as they began to fall, and slowly guided them to the postseason. They lost in the opening round to the Montreal Blizzards, but this team was close to falling out of contention until a final push proved worthy of the trip. This is going to be a very experienced division, and it's going to be hard to see which two come out.
<< HOUSTON HAVOC (Division: 2nd, League: 8th) >> Season 10 comes to mind when I think of Muffin's past in the RHL. You can never deny a ring, and there is no exception to that when it comes to the Riders' championship. Muffin has the experience to lead another team to the top of the podium, and he deals with his players respectfully, yet responsibly. Dealing with issues that the Riders' had about playing on the same team with another person they didn't like, Muffin made it clear that "if you don't like the player you are with, you are going to have to deal with it. We're here together to win the championship, and that isn't going to change." It's probably one of the best things to go by when you're in this league. If you work together, you are going to get far, because team chemistry is a must in this league. Although I don't predict them to win their division, I see them making the postseason and maybe causing a scare to the Dolans late in the regular season, but just coming up short.
<< PHOENIX BLAZE (Division: 3rd, League: 12th) >> Quebec was an example of a dark horse in Season 11, and this team could be another this season. You didn't really see any players with the potential to have a big impact for the team, but yet they were still able to slip into the top six of the league and push four games in a best-of-5 series against a team who won a title in Season 9. Sadly, the division they are in looks just too ominous for these guys, but I could be wrong here. Depending on how the team believes and reacts to different situations, they could finish in a very different position than what I believe.
<< ORANGE COUNTY MIGHTY DOLANS (Division: 1st, League: 1st) >> The Dolans look almost identical to their Cup-winning team back in Season 7. With a few faces that weren't expected, such as Hanboy16, SidTehKid, and TyuiopX, this team looks like it's still giving other players chances to earn a spot on the roster. Cheesey did very well recruiting his team, while Tgross25 and Finggers did a great job drafting the team, adding in a few surprises here and there is always a good thing. I really don't see how this team can't finish with a division title, because really, using this roster, it looks like this team has the players to do so and more.
=== NORTHWEST DIVISION === DIVISION PREVIEW: Three teams who have all had their names on a postseason bracket, this division is going to be a hard fight. We're looking at Minnesota, a team who took down the Dallas Riders and denied them of a chance at winning a Cup in their inaugural season, but failing to get by Montreal, who won the championship that season. Then you have Moose Jaw, the team who ended the reign of the Mighty Dolans in Season 8, in a very exciting best-of-7 Finals series between the two. Game 7 ended in a 1-0 nail-biter. Finally, you have Winnipeg, a team with Finals experience in Season 9 (swept by the Blizzards that season) and then another postseason chance in Season 10, which they were defeated by the future-champion, Dallas Riders, in six games. This division probably has the most history attached to it, with all three having memorable postseason runs.
<< MINNESOTA MOOSE (Division: 3rd, League: 9th) >> It was very tough to predict that this team was going to come short of a postseason appearance. I looked through the rosters of all three teams, and unfortunately, I decided that this looked to be the weakest of the three in this division. Although all three have players which could have breakout seasons, I just don't see any previous well-known leaders that brought their team far into a season with their own work. A few of Minnesota's Season 11 postseason team returned, such as Nonrugsalt, Nontooth, PiratesFan21, and MarioKartAddict, but still I don't know how all of them are able to deal with two teams that have taken trips to Finals in the past.
<< MOOSE JAW SORCERERS (Division: 2nd, League: 6th) >> Alphadraco has returned after a two-season break from the league, and it seems to have changed his attitude toward the league in a good way. With that, he has also picked up a few key players that I wasn't expecting them to do, like Karnoveer, Mitchmole, and Jonjames1234. I think this team will make the postseason this season, I really do, but I just don't see how their team chemistry is doing as of yet. This could change later in the season, but this is what I see coming from them right now.
<< WINNIPEG SNOW TIGERS (Division: 1st, League: 3rd) >> TinyBerry3 and Co. are at it again, following a season that they took off. With the help of Deathrange07, PokaKola, Sportsfan1414, and Dannygopher123, you might be seeing this group at the top of the division standings at the end of the regular season, which is a great achievement in a division like this one. The team has had high and low points in the two seasons that it has been in the league, but this season I see a chance at the Cup, just like they had in Season 9 against the Blizzards. Winnipeg has all positions covered, with Tiny in net, and then a mixture of Amano, Death, and Poka all playing forward/defense. It's like Ottawa with a few additions. Not only that, they've got the chance to trade for a few others like FIRECAKE, who was on the Season 10 roster. With room on the roster to spare, it's no surprise that this team could win this division. Not by a landslide, because this is one of the toughest divisions in the league, but they could still win it.
=== METROPOLITAN DIVISION === All three of the teams in this division have owners with some sort of experience in the league prior to this season. Coolcalvie11 led the New York Empire out of the dumps and almost saved them from being disbanded, barely missing the cut after making up so much ground. Sombervilla123 has been in the league for many seasons before this one, and has strategies to bring the team to victory. Then you have Thunder Bay, renamed from the Season 11 Windsor Spitfires, Kenny149 began his journey as a team owner on the wrong foot. The team was last to get a point, but somehow finished above the bottom two and were allowed to stay another season.
<< DETROIT DYNAMO (Division: 3rd, League: 11th) >> I really don't know what to expect from this team to begin the season. This team might surprise me, or they might not. Looking at their roster, most of these players seem to be minor players from previous good teams. Vcvkjnf was on Ottawa last season, but he was one of the players who played bench a lot and I was not able to see how well he performed in times when the Old-Schoolers were desperate. Then you have NOONEISBETTERTHANME1, who was on Quebec lsat season, but again, I don't remember him coming up big in a huge game for the team. I am not saying that this team can't produce a roster that has the capabilities of winning a title, but it doesn't look like this team can get very far at the moment.
<< GUELPH STORM (Division: 1st, League: 5th) >> It's hard to turn down a team with Sombervilla123, Gh0stRecon49, Canucks4Life, Angypoo, DemonizedSoul, and CatVeron, and I'm not about to do that here. Angy and Canucks were a prime factor in San Antonio's race for the Cup in Season 11, and with the addition of two other legends, such as Somb and Gh0st, I see them having a potential to win their division and have a run for the conference title as well. There's just so many people here to choose from that can lead this team places, and they only have about half of their roster space taken up. Plenty of room for more people to join this squad and make it even more of an all-star roster.
<< THUNDER BAY TWISTERS (Division: 2nd, League: 7th) >> Last season, Windsor was missing pieces of the puzzle, and that's what held them back from a chance at making the postseason. Kenny did a good job this season making sure that those spaces were filled. Most of the issues that they had in Season 11 were due to their lack of experience in the goalie position. Now they have players like Appleman28, Sportsfan1414 (if they decide to keep him), and maybe a few other people that could help out if needed. This season, I see all of those players that were trying to hold their team up last season, but remaining unnoticed because of the teams that they played on, and I see them all on this team. Together, they can make a statement that they were deserving of a chance last season. I think this team has a decent chance at the postseason this time.
=== ATLANTIC DIVISION === Finally, we have the division that has a new team, a team that is returning, and a team that has been in the league the longest out of any franchise in RHL history. Cairo was denied a chance in the Season 10 postseason after losing their final regular season game against Portland, and from there, all went wrong. Montreal won the RHL Cup in Season 9, but since then have not done much in the Finals. Zurich is a new franchise, but it has a team with a lot of players from the Mighty Dolans in Season 7, the one that won the title. It's really going to be interesting to see where this division goes and how this division plays out, especially in division match-ups.
<< CAIRO PYRAMIDS (Division: 2nd, League: 4th) >> At first, I was going to say that this team was going to finish last in their division by a mile, but then I took a look at their roster and noticed three big players: Godaids, Logaids, and Cataids. These three not only have a great sense of chemistry, probably the best group of friends this league has ever seen, but they also fill all three types of positions. You have Logaids, a legendary scorer who can put up goals on just about any goaltender. Then you have Godaids, who plays lockdown defense (won that award last season too) and can try to score if it wants. Finally, you have Cataids, who has saved Kentucky many times with short-notice appearances in net. Other names such as Jimbobucky, Vikingsfan397, and Pusaids only add on to this team's potential. I still don't believe it's enough to win this division.
<< MONTREAL BLIZZARDS (Division: 3rd, League: 10th) >> Montreal has never really had a time where they were not expected to make the postseason. They always found a way to get in, and nobody was shocked about it, because they all had a feeling it would anyway. This season though, the team lacks in many areas. It's pretty much just Poipoi87626 and Habs100 right now, with maybe another player or two that could have a chance to make a statement for the team, but I don't think this team can measure up with the other teams in this division. They've lost too many big names from last season, like Gh0stRecon49, and that's going to hurt them quite a bit during this season. For the first time, I don't think Montreal is going to make the postseason this time.
<< ZURICH SPORT CLUB LIONS (Division: 1st, League: 2nd) Despite the threat that Cairo poses this season, as it seems to be a lot more prepared this season than it was in Season 10, I still think that the Lions have the better team. A team from the Sports Forum is always successful some way in the league every season, and I see a repeat of that happening here. Cap knows how to own a team, and he has demonstrated that in Season 7, winning the RHL Cup in his first season as a team manager. After a short break, he's returned and is ready to make another run at it in Season 12. This time, the league is bigger and more names are here to put a stop to his good record. This team has all it needs to win this division and is probably my favorite to win the Eastern Conference title.

Let me know what you think of this, because I spent a lot of time on it and I want to know if I should continue making power rankings during the season and what should I do differently. Thanks =).

Well you and Cheesey had a joint ownership really. Cheesey showed up to most of the games.

Well after seeing him say he was owner so much I guess it made me think that way eventually. My bad then.

@pri
Cheesey was good, then he took things too seriously. He benched a lot of people, hogged ice time. And if I couldn't clear the zone because I was being double-manned, he raged like no one I've ever seen before. |

If you seriously think ZSC is going to finish 2nd, then you're smoking something weird.
With their roster, I doubt they'll even make it into the Top 5.

A roster of cap, scar, jetty, dlh, chriz, bung and others? Scar is a great goalie, cap is a great forward, bung is a great forward/defense |

Me and Muffin share ownership of the Havoc 50/50. I had to deal with the team completely when he left ROBLOX for several days. Could you at least show some appreciation of my dedication toward this league for 5+ Seasons into one little sentence of mention?
You also forgot to mention any of our roster which could be quite intimidating to other teams. Btw, Thunder Bay over Detroit? I wonder who did that (*COUGH HOBO*). |

I've been in the league for 8 SEASONS (S12 will be 9th) and I haven't gotten any appreciation.

| To avoid a war, I believe that veterans should have mention in their teams to honor their dedication and activity contributed to the league and as well as any other means necessary. |

Thank you for making one of these Bens! Now actually keep making them. XD
I think Zurich could massively fall from the position you gave them. Scar will need to be active because I think inactivity will be the major issue of the squad. I also don't think the Dolans will do as good as you think. |
