Building is pretty much what sums up ROBLOX. But the staff should also consider other elements like user made clothing. It should be a rule not to copy clothing and sell it without the original designers permission. Why? DevEx has been introduced. Let's say someone buys BC and spends time creating clothing and sells it. A copier copies, advertises and sells (without permission, credit from the original creator and claiming it's theirs) the clothing and somehow makes more money than the original. The copier then upgrades to OBC, turning their robux into real life money. That's in some ways, fraud.
Why should we not copy? It's also morally wrong to copy. It's not even copying. It's technically STEALING. Stealing is: 'take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it.' In real life, it's illegal to steal and sell something. Why should it be allowed online? I'm not saying we call the police and arrest every single clothes copier, I think there should be a way of people NOT being able to copy clothing.
How this rule works & how to report a copier: There will not be any consequences for clothes copiers UNTIL a designer decides to report the material. It's optional obviously for the original creator to report or not. Mods will not do anything if something is copied and not reported. If an original designer does report, they have to send a link to both the copiers and the original template. The image mod will then check the creation date and the similarity of both the templates. If they do find a copier, they just [CONTENT DELETED] the image like the following:
http://www.roblox.com/Blue-heart-tank-top-with-Marble-jewels-item?id=44444187
That should probably be the only punishment as taking away their robux and tix would be very difficult because they might have spent it etc...
More solutions: If a rule can't be made, why not make it so copiers cannot copy? How about a copylock button for clothing? Templates would be on a link, and just like school websites, there are pages where you need to sign in as administrator to view certain content. Put the templates on the page where only administrators (staff) need to sign in to see it. That is where the copylocked clothes go. The uncopylocked will just stay where they always have been, able for people to copy and paste the template.
Loads of people have copied clothes already, this rule can't stop what's already happened! I know that we cannot stop what's already happened. So how this works is, a designer can report what's already happened (someone's copied their clothing) and the copy will be just [CONTENT DELETED]
Any support and any other possible solutions? |

Also the following is from ROBLOX Terms of Service:
4. All user content and communications on the ROBLOX site may be filtered and monitored. ROBLOX does not pre-screen all submitted content, but ROBLOX and its designees shall have the right in their sole discretion to reject or remove any content that is available via the site. So that everyone has a good time, you understand and agree that you will not post or send through the site any words, images or links containing or relating to:
materials created by someone else without their express written permission text or images that infringe on any intellectual property rights, including but not limited to, copyrights, trademarks and rights of privacy and publicity.
The ''materials created by someone else without their express written permission,'' isn't really being put to use. |

I agree, completely.
The main problem is that with every shirt and pants item, there is an associated asset image that anyone can access.
They need to lock these images to prevent players from copying them. They did it with the texture of the Bloxcon Power Armor, so why not with players' clothing? |

| What is ROBLOX going to do, sue them? We're talking about kids ages 7-17. Little children don't know all about copyright issues. The spoiled brats get a computer and in the middle of watching popcorn they get an ad for ROBLOX and think it looks fun. Heck, they don't even read the ToS when installing or signing up for stuff. |

| Start by legally copyrighting the template. Just put "Copyright 2014 REALNAMEHERE" or "© 2014 REALNAMEHERE" |

| The things you listed like CD'ing the shirt won't work, since they will re-copy it. There will always be copiers. That's why ROBLOX made the price floor. Yeah, people can copy. But they can't sell it any lower than what the original will probably be. Most people would buy the one with better quality, and more sales. |

@Blackstride
I never said sue, I said [CONTENT DELETE] the stuff.
Example:

@trog That won't do. They can edit it with a paint program. |

| This is why they need to lock the templates into a place where you need to sign in as an administrator account to view the templates. |

I want the ability to be able to have the right to take down logo & uniforms I made for a group, cause I had an old logo and uniform that this group http://www.roblox.com/Groups/group.aspx?gid=892380 is using, but he won't take it down. So I had to cut a deal with him to put my name in the description. I want it down, but this was the only way to make me slightly happy about it. It'd be nice if users has a copyright to their own creations.
By the way support. : ) |

@black
Sure, they can edit it out, it's still illegal to copy a copyrighted work without permission from the owner. |

I don't support to the templates being locked. It's interesting to see how shirts are made, and you can get an idea of how they look on the back.
However, maybe roblox shouldn't allow images very similar to be re-uploaded. As in, if a shirt is too similar, it's denied. |

| Anyone can copy, you can't really do anything about it. I have almost all of my clothes as edited copies. |

| ROBLOX already checks DevEx requests to see if the money has been gained in an acceptable way. it's why you can often see rich people complaining that DevEx has been pending for over a week for them. |

@Black
ROBLOX wouldn't be doing the suing, the owner of the shirt would. If they don't care about protecting their work, then that's their problem. |
