Nobody on this forum knows what communism is.
Aside from "Mom and dad and movies and history class say it's bad".

| You know what's funny about Communism? Everyone's equal to each other, it's the very thing that we teach children in school, and yet we perceive it as the root of all things evil. |

| Communism actually has benefits, it works in theory, but rarely works in practice. |

Issue with communism is to get to a true communist society, Marx says it would require a period of totalitarianism to keep people in line. However, the leaders of countries refused to LEAVE this period, because of how much power they had.
Sad, really. The one time it was tried to start giving freedoms back (Crap, it was some eastern European country, can't remember which one) in came the Soviet tanks. |

And it never will be. Human nature won't let it.
Which brings up the question of why 12 year olds all claim to be communists. Guess they're just embracing their inner hipster. |

| Communism is essentially an extreme version of Socialism. |

No, it isn't. They're practically opposites. Socialism, in essence, is where the state owns and controls most, if not all, facets of society and the economy. Communism is characterized by a lack of government whatsoever, due to any sort of hierarchy eliminating the equality of communism. |

Vladimir Lenin himself used the term 'socialism' when he referred to the first 'phase' of communism.
Also, I don't think a functioning government can be characterized by a lack of government. |
