It doesn't block a lot of sites but god dammit we hate it.
What do we do.

"theres ways to bypass it, or convince him to delete it"
We don't even want to confront him. Do tell of these ways.

Cyberghost works great and is free. It will pop up when you start your computer though. Hopefully he doesn't know what it is.
A proxy MAY also work. You can get a proxy extension for Google Chrome which will stay a bit more hidden. VPN may be your only option though. You'll have to try. |

| Okay, we're on mobile now. Because after we got cyberghost, it told us it can't connect or something. Now we can't get any connection off this laptop even after uninstalling it. |

Okay so is it a blocking program he installed or did he do it through the router? If its a program, you're going to have to live with it.
There is one thing you can do IF it is a program. I don't know if it will be worth the effort. Search Ubuntu. You want to download Ubuntu desktop, and find a guide online to run it in a virtual machine. Through the virtual machine, you can use your websites like normal without restrictions.
Now, you can install Ubuntu to your computer and keep Windows as well. It is called dual booting. It's something to look into though. |

you should stop trying to bypass it and leave it alone |

If you currently can't get a connection, try disconnecting and reconnecting to wifi.
If still no, restart the computer.

Wait a minute something's fishy going around here...
I JUST went to the blocked website on this phone and it wasn't blocked. Same network. I'm starting to think he didn't add a filter after all... |

| Also, in your taskbar, next to the wifi and sound and all that, click the arrow "^". hover over those icons and see if you can find the program he installed to get a name. If you google that, you may be able to find a way to disable it and re-enable it later so he doesn't know. |

Okay, if you can access it on your phone than it has nothing to do with the router.
It means he installed a program on your laptop to block websites. I would try to figure out the program and see about disabling it. |

@Clearest
I would advise you stop trying to disable a program that is likely made for his internet safety
I'm pretty sure the father would of installed it to block dangerous or inappropriate websites and the fact OP wants to get rid of it probably shows he or someone else has been looking up something they shouldn't, daddy caught him, now he's blocking select websites for a reason |

| It MAY have been something to do with something we installed. That, or we're just very confused about the situation and in fact has put a block up. Either way, we're doing a system restore point to where we think it happened. |

doesn't mean he can't see what you're doing and didn't tell you
your parents can put up a program where they can see every single thing you do on the computer and/or track it in logs
if he sees things you're not supposed to be doing and has put up a block, stop trying to avoid the block and deal with it, it's probably your fault not his |

| Come to think of it, what if this was just preinstalled onto the new router? We just got it today, and our father isn't really the one who would put up blocks like this |

@Nteorvolri:
It isn't select websites. He installed a filter... Like, it blocked CyberGhost's main site. Why would her dad block that? It even gave the reason for blocking. It is all automatic. He didn't put in certain websites.
The thing is, the internet is free. Free as in freedom. It shouldn't be censored. He should either allow the kids on the internet, or prohibit them from the internet. No in between.
There are a lot of over-the-top parents that don't trust their kids so block stuff for no reason. Plus, those filters block more good than bad. Of course, your protected from a few sites. But, a lot of innocent sites also turn out to be prohibited.
If he/she would like the filter disabled, they should be able too. They are old enough to make their own decisions being aware of the consequences. |
