Mavs get:
C Tyson Chandler
G Raymond Felton

Knicks get:
G Jose Calderon
G Shane Larkin
G Wayne Ellington
C Samuel Dalembert
2 2nd Round Draft Picks

This is a big one sided deal in my opinion. The Mavs got better talent which helps there case in trying to get Lebron or Melo while the Knicks seemed to ruin there chances even more at retaining Melo. The Knicks acquired Jose Calderon and 3 sucky players along with 2 draft picks that probably don't even matter. The Mavs helped there case in getting better in the West, and by having a better chance at getting Carmelo and Lebron. Will Dallas get both? Not a chance. Will Dallas get Carmelo? They look to be a front runner now, but still probably not.

your thoughts?

This trade was terrible for the Mavs because

1. They ended up with Raymond Felton
2. They gave up Shane Larkin

I think the Knicks won this trade. They pick up a quality PG in Calderon, as well as two young guards and a veteran C, which all three can even be discarded, and two draft choices. Not to mention the cap space they cleared up. Also, Raymond "Felon" Felton was going to be given up one way or another, and this trade made it happen easily.

OK why is everyone beginning to drink the Shane Larkin kool-aide? He had struggled to even stay up in Dallas and not the D-League and only averaged 2.8 PPG when he was around. Yeah he can energize a team but not through production.

And I am 100% positive we are either going to buy-out Felton's contract or (unrealistically) trade him away to a team that (is stupid enough) to want him.

In the end though the Mavs won this trade because they needed to trade Calderon due to Ellis and Calderon being unable to coexsist and in exchange we got a huge upgrade on defense. Yes we traded 2 2nd round picks but we wouldn't have done anything with those picks anyways.

I agree with Muffin. I don't think Shane Larkin is that good. Chandler isn't great, but he's WAY better than Dalembert. Felton is definitely better than Wayne Ellington, or whoever that is. Jose Calderon was a loss for the Mavs, but how is he going to convince Carmelo to stay?
